I can turn a wrench and we have good friends with good garages if necessary. Like I said, it's the body style on the 09 that I like, so money pit option isn't my first concern. I'm not dumping stuff all at once either.
Thanks for the offer at Freehold Ford. I used them years ago too when my ex was buying fleets. Matt's dad can do better for us - he's retired from Ford and we get the A Plan on new cars Biggrin

The new Mustang is ugly. Period. Gender has nothing to do with it. They should have done something BIG for the anniversary year on such an iconic car that's been around all this time without losing popularity.

TenFour - There's way too much traffic here to drive it like I stole it, much to my dismay. I love the CTS and I know I'll never be able to afford one. LOL It's not on the family's A Plan either Biggrin

I personally wish they didnt drop the front so low it looks like the ford fusion almost, the back of the car looks good though its just that front eh.

A majority of new mustang owners are young girls and guys but more so girls own a mustang, my generation females would not be into the retro style they want the curvy futuristic looks, the "modern" young females pretty much have no ovaries when it comes to sports cars they like weird shit.

As far as performance there was no reason to keep the boss it was too much of a financial premium for minimum increase in performance over the 5.0 which by the way is an amazing engine. Then there is the 5.8 supercharged which drops 660+ horsepower, it just made sense to take out the middle ground. Performance wise over all the newest year trim lines are going to all perform the same to their previous year trim lines.

Now for your options, cheapest move in long run would be get the 2014 model mustang with the engine that best suits you with the interior you want. Doing an engine swap and upgrades to your current mustang when you physically cant do the work yourself is a money pit. You will have spent at least half to 2/3rds the money needed to get into a 2014 model that you would want.

I have a really good salesman at freehold ford that can get you a real good deal if you lean toward the 2014, the company I have a franchise with has been using this guy for 10+ years .

Or plan B, go to carlisle in 2015 and pick one up from someone who wants blue book.

Nope. And since I'm not a NASCAR fan, and don't take this as snotty, I don't really care.

I'm not racing my car. I bought it to enjoy it. Gonna put a cold air kit on it soon and then think about tweaking other things in the future.

The joy of owning a car like that is to deliberately piss everyone off by driving it very very slowly where no one dare over take, thinking you are challenging them :p
Never washing it
Never get it repaired at the dealers and if the paints comes off.... don't respray it red
Join the queue to the dump

I like both photo's by the way- The Shelby is A* though x

I think that is just somebodies concept of what the 2015 Mustang will look like. It is pretty much based on the Evos concept car. The actual 2015 has no debuted yet, so it is speculation.

The problem is the mustang went from being a iconic muscle car to teenager sports car. You can look up the stats a majority of mustang owners are young females. Today's modern teenager wants the futurist look. Granted ford should have done some sort of throw back for the 50th anniversary but they would not sell as many as they would going with a modern body style. The demographic on a throw back style would be 40-60 years old, people that could appreciate the old design most grow out of the need for speed in that age group and aren't buying secondary cars.

Which we saw with the retro thunderbirds a few years back.

They were not retro. Those Tbirds looked like Alfa Romeo Spiders!

GM and Chrysler let loose retro Camaro's, Challengers and Chargers and they're selling like mad up here. They did that on the heels of the retro look Mustang. I guess that's an indication that no one wants the retro look cars.

I'm telling you, this is a bad idea on Ford's part. It's the only sports car aside from the Corvette that has not disappeared from the market and had to vie for a return.

Anthony, there are just as many men who own Mustangs as there are women. I don't care what 'girls' think and the mustang forum I belong to has a healthy mix of both and get this, a good amount of the women there can even turn a wrench and understand 'car talk'. Women leave the "I want it shiny and pretty" talk to the girls.
