Car goes vooom-sssssssssssssssss-vooooom!

I don't like that they didn't supply hose clamps for the crank case exhaust. They made me cut off the original nipple which had a locking clip on it to just shoving it into a silicone hose into the air tube and slipped over the exhaust tube. Gonna hit the stores tomorrow to get a couple for that.

K&N give the SHITTIEST instructions too. Tiny little black and white pictures that show NOTHING close to the description of the parts or the parts described in the instructions. Good think I'm handy with shit like this.

Nope but the car isn't any noisier than before. You can now hear all the air it takes in is all. Before the intake was just a black box with holes drilled in it on the bottom. Looks like a rat trap.

Sadly, I haven't even checked how much I get to begin with. I don't put a lot of miles on the car either. Most weeks it never gets driven until the weekend too. I don't think I'd get much more than another gallon's worth anyway. I still don't even have 50K miles on it.

The better, cooler airflow should give you 1 maybe 2 mpg better under part throttle operation and up your git-up-and-go when you mash on it.

Exactly what I expect. I already chirp those tires at lights without having to mash the pedal. Surprised me for the 4.0L engine. Didn't think it had that much oomph to it.

I still don't like the automatic tranny. It bangs, hesitates etc too much for my tastes. I shift much smoother on my own.

A 4L engine is large for a light car like that, most mid size suv's have maybe a 3.5-3.6L engine.

I have still been looking into get the CAI on my truck if I gained 1-2 mpg I would do it in a heartbeat. With currently getting 14.5 mpg with Plus gas in summerish weather and god only knows what will happen in the winter, a 1-2 mpg increase is borderline godly in my situation.

So I've had the opportunity to drive the car a few times and to get it on the highway and open it up a bit.
OMG the difference between those 10 horses and before! No longer does the car choke on itself when I hit the gas. Still bangs into gear because it's an automatic transmission, but NOTHING like it did before. Car feels 'handier' too and it has an almost 'floating' feeling when driving now.

Hey LK, how do you clean that filter? They didn't give any instructions. How often is ideal?
