I have not been out of my house since Tuesday night. It's fucking cold. There is snow up to my neck - literally up to my neck all around my house. If it were not for Matt's friend with the plow I'd still be shoveling snow because this shit is too deep for the snowblower we were given but haven't used yet.

The truck I just got isn't even in my possession since Tuesday because the mechanic has not had time to have a look at it. I still have the little Caddy but goddamn if it doesn't suck donkey balls in the snow. Coasting around the corner in last weeks dusting she skid and popped up onto the sidewalk. I drive through my neighborhood at like 15mph. The tires pack easily with snow causing them to have no grip turning them into slicks. Ugh.

Yep. Drifts up to 6' in some places where the wind is able to whip around . It's 11fuckingdegrees out right now and there is no relief in site for a few days. they say it's going to warm up to above freezing this coming week but I'm not going hold much hope in that.

I was in Elizabeth when that shit started and even though it wasn't all that much snow it WAS sloppy and slick.

I had to fight all the way up Jugtown mountain (10 mile marker on i-78) on my way back with an empty tank behind me and questionable tread on all 8 drive tires. They were still easily legal tread depth but worn to where they were packing with that wet shit and might as well have been bald.

A few people shit themselves as they thought I was going to jacknife the tractor going up the mountain. On top of that, my wipers loaded up with ice and just before I stopped at the rest area at the bottom of the mountain, my right side wiper blade broke from all the excess weight. i had to remove the wiper arm and finish the trip with only my driver's side wiper.

I called the shop and told them about it and the tires and the shop manager said we will take care of all that when i get back. i got there and they had new wipers and 8 new (agressive tread) tires mounted on wheels sitting in the bay ready for me. (Gotta love those guys. They take good care of me!)

It wasn't really their fault on the worn tires because the mgr did ask me if they were going to be ok in snow back in October. I told him I'd have to see and would let him know how they did. Well...........

The cold temps have our bulk fueling pump running only slightly faster than molasses (2 - 4 gallons/minute) and trying to pump 10 gallons into the truck takes for-fucking-ever.

Fuck that shit. I'm going to fuel on the road until the pump thaws out and runs at it's normal 15 gal/min.

Right now it's a balmy 1 degree on my front porch and with the wind chill it's -13.

You know, I would actually have like for some snow. Last week it was cold as fuck, but we didn't even get snow. Just pointless cold.

It's frozen icy shit here. Usually when it bombs us like this it starts melting right away. Not going to happen this time. It's so cold out it busted the outside sensor for the thermostat. My computer says it's 8º outside.
