Post: #1 | ANOTHER BITCH NOR'EASTER

be prepared ---again. (i KNEW if i moved from florida to New England the fucking hurricanes would follow me!Cow ) get your supplies today and batten the hatches. predictions are quite dire. we're making history, when you're old you can tell your grandkids about the monster 'canes and nor'easters of twenty-ten! Skull

Hurricane-Like Storm Aims for Pennsylvania to Maine Thursday, Friday
2/23/2010 9:45 AMA powerful storm of historical proportions is aiming at much of the Northeast Thursday into Friday and will follow up to a foot and a half of snow through Wednesday over upstate New York and western New England. This second storm will be nothing short of a monster. TIME TO PANIC!Tantrum Even in light of the blizzards earlier this winter that targeted the southern mid-Atlantic, this may be the one that people remember the most this winter in parts of New England and the northern mid-Atlantic.At its peak, the storm will deliver near hurricane-force wind gusts (74 mph) blinding snow falling at the rate of over an inch per hour. For some people in upstate New York and eastern and northern Pennsylvania, this may seem more like a "snow hurricane" rather than a blizzard.Cities likely to be impacted by heavy snow for all or at least part of the storm include: New York City, Albany, Rochester, Syracuse, Binghamton, Scranton, Allentown, Reading, Williamsport and Burlington. The storm also deliver heavy rain and flooding northeast of the center of circulation. The cities of Boston, Providence and Portland may have their hands full with coastal flooding problems. The combination of wind, heavy rain and heavy snow will lead to extensive power outages and property damage. Where numerous trees and lines are blown down, the power could be out for a week in some areas.Impacts on travel in the region may be severe. The effects of the storm will lead to flight delays and cancellations. Some major roads may be blocked by snow, downed trees or flooding. Many schools will be closed or have early dismissals.Blowout tides caused by strong offshore winds from New Jersey to North Carolina may pose problems for coastal waterway interests.Exactly where this storm forms and tracks will determine whether you get all snow, all rain, snow to rain or just snow showers. A variance in track of as little as 50 miles will make a difference. One thing is for sure, most people in the mid-Atlantic and New England will have problems from this storm's strong winds.

Great. I swear the weather Gods wait for the snow to melt and my basement to flood and time the next storm accordingly. We've been up all night pumping water. My body is wracked with pain and my head has been pounding for a week predicting the current rain we're having and this pig coming in.

Just friggin' great. We got concert tickets in Atlantic City tomorrow and a room so we don't have to drive drunk and in the wee hours. I don't know if we'll even make it, never mind the band making it to the show! Last snowstorm had a show cancelled here closer to home.

This sucks. what a giant pain in the ass.

I've a small lake in my basement ATM Tantrum

I would rather it freeze and snow and thaw slowly. I live just south of the I-195 corridor and the weather can be extremely different on one side of that highway than the other! You never know what it will bring here.

i got lucky. but Maggot has trees down and has been running on a generator all last night and today. Telephone

High winds that gusted at more than 60 miles per hour left tens of thousands of Massachusetts residents without power, toppled trees and tore roofs off buildings.

By noon Friday, National Grid reported about 65,000 customers without power, mostly in the northeastern part of the state, down from a high of 100,000. Many schools closed because they did not have power.

The Thursday night wind tore the roof off an empty seaside motel in eastern Gloucester.

The storm also brought heavy rain, sent waves crashing over seawalls in coastal communities, and forced commuter rail delays.

State officials were monitoring a 300-year-old dam in Freetown as water from the storm-swollen Forge Pond poured over the top. People who lived in about a dozen nearby homes voluntarily evacuated.

I ended up driving through this mess. I made a delivery in Boyertown, Pa. Now they DID cancel part 2 of that load which was from Boyertown to Elizabeth,NJ but all the same it was no fun.

Now the scary part......there is a fellow in Berks County here in PA that has accurately predicted the last 3 snow storms including accumulation. He is predicting a whopper for March 7th. A 40 inch blizzard!

Fuck I hope he's blown out his luck.
