I haven't those pieces but I know people who have and haven't heard anything but good.

Beyerdynamics makes plenty of high end studio gear and an assload of recording pros use their stuff.

My personal preference is a wired set but due to how you want to use them wired would be problematic. Mine are used for my personal in-ear stage monitor system. I've had some pretty high end traditional headphones that didn't sound as good. If you ever want a damn good wired set let me know and I'll send you to the site.

I've been using the apple pods that come with the phones and they're wired. They hurt my ears. I get hung up a lot with tight trails and more often than not, I rip them out myself accidentally when I get off the bike for something. My biggest issue is that things in my ear hurt so trial and error is going to be the way to go for me. I hate doing that. I feel like such a dick returning stuff a kabillion times.

Thoughts on these?

Does the frequency help determine how low the sounds go?

And what about one up on your suggestion?

The low end of the scale is your bass yes. 10Hz is lower than you can hear, and 22000Hz is higher than you can hear. 20Hz to 20000Hz is pretty much the range of what the human ear can hear. As to how it sounds? Well, bass is dependent on moving air to achieve it. So the little buds have a harder time reproducing bass. In the end, you most likely will end up buying some, trying them, and returning if you don't like them. As for while riding, why don't you just run the cord under your shirt?

Running the cord under the shirt doesn't work for me. Tried it. It pulls. I have the phone on a center stem mount, not on my body. I also forget to unplug when I get off I forget they're in my ears and I wind up getting yanked by the ears and the bike falls. Not fun.

The only difference in the spec of the 2 Byerdynamics sets is the more expensive ones have a high response of 25k as opposed to 23k. Both exceed the range of human hearing so only cats and dogs will hear a difference.

I mean if you really WANT to go with the more expensive set then ok but I can't see any significant difference.

The Forzas are a consumer grade piece where the Byers are studio/stage/industrial even though they are listed under the "home" section.

So I was in the mall and stopped in the Verizon store to ask about something and I went all bold and asked if I promised to wipe down his earbuds can I give his a listen. They were pretty nice! The only thing I'm skeptical on is that stupid neck piece and the wires are really quite thin. Almost like thread. That leaves me skeptical about durability if they get hung up on something, but the sound was Awesome.

Also, I'm not so sure the rubber gel pieces come small enough for me. Only two sizes come with the kit.

The thing that looks good to me here is their invocation of the Harman Kardon brand.

The might be contract manufactured for LG by H-K. If that's the case, then they are certainly a quality piece.

Yeah I was surprised. I do have a couple pair of over the ear things for the computer use from LG and they were pretty good, but those are hard wired. I'm just not sure if I want that neck piece and those really thin wires. And the one very definite thing stopping me on those is the limited amount of ear but adapters. I need some really small ones and I just don't know how small the small is. I do know the big ones are so big I had to hold them in my ears trying that guy's or they'd fall out.

The ones you linked me LK are still top of the list!

I just stumbled across THESE:
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Bose/761448-0010.gc

Ok so they are ex-fucking-spensive BUT they're BOSE! Those guys make the most incredible audio devices.
They look like the LG's but with heavier wires for the ear buds and options to go either Bluetooth or wired if you so choose. Plus they have selectable noise cancelling which would work great for using both on the bike where you want some outside sounds to come through or at home where you may want lots of isolation.
