Yesterday I did them a "favor" at work and ran a rare (for me) Saturday load.

I knew the weather front was coming in so I took a chance that my 2am tank would be ready by 1am and thankfully it was.

I wanted to get ahead of the weather as much as possible and it worked well since I didn't see a trace of snow/sleet/freezing rain/slop until I got to the 2 mile marker on 78 in NJ.

By the time I got to the 78/287 split it was getting slick. By the time I got to Elizabeth to drop the tank it was slicker than owl shit!

It took me just short of 3 1/2 hours where normall I can do it in 3. The way back was even worse as conditions just got worse as I went and the trip took 5 1/2 hours!

Oh well......they are damn sure paying me for my trouble as I racked up 11 hours for the trip total and all of it was at time and a half. There ARE saving graces to taking an extra run once in a while. Wink

We were out on the road at 2 on Sunday morning coming home from Dunellen. The fog was so thick it took us an extra 45 minutes to get home from what normally would be a less than 1 hour ride. No one knows what fog lights are for. I was blinded from behind and when someone passed. No street lights on the parkway either. Wasn't very helpful. Some idiots thought it was a good idea to drive 70+ mph in that shit too. I couldn't see the car in front of me if it was more than a car length away. That's how thick this fog was.

We went out and as we headed north, the snow was about 4" deep. Our 2" melted by noon. It was pretty cold up north too. Yesterday it hit 68º and now it's back down to arctic 28º as of this writing.

Woke up to a dusting of snow, temps in the low 20's. just turned 40 in the yard but this will turn to bitter cold and snow tonight through the weekend. Figures, we are going out tonight and to the city all day tomorrow. Gonna work on that sleeve to try and finish it.

So Friday's dusting melts, we go out for the night, get our night cut short because Matt had to go on a call to a customer he dealt with prior to us leaving where the alarm was not their. The guy kept calling and taking down the wireless smokes AND called the fire dept out so that made it so Matt had to go. Funny, upon troublshooting it still was not his company's smokes going off.

So, we get home and sleep and I go to bed looking forward to a fun filled Saturday in the city. Tattoos, food, music yay. Not. Tiny flakes piling up fast = blizzard. We got a foot here. FML. So we watched it pile up and sat around all weekend. I wake up today to this bullshit:

Yeah. I didn't screen shot it, but this morning it is 56 out. Friday it was -8. Seems extreme.

On Thursday I was walking barefoot to the mailbox, yard etc. Short trips, no biggie. By evening the wind was whipping and everything was freezing up. I think we're going to be in the mid 50's by mid week here. Welcome to winter Smile
