The mental health system is also a bunch of people making arbitrary decisions about mental health. *Anyone* could be *mentally unstable*....

Regardless, expect more gun laws to come down the pike somehow. Whether they get passed or not remains to be seen.

And this wasn't a schoolboy, he was an adult. Fuck her carelessness, he is the shooter.

I have not found any info yet on what condition the guns were kept, however I strongly believe there was minimal/no securing or the kid had the the keys and or codes to the safe. Due to a few things, the mother was killed in the house, if they were locked up and he had some kind of resistance to getting to the firearms there would have been some form of struggle between them the report on that was he simply shot her in the face and she was caught off guard. Anyone in my house that goes for my safes and I saw it there would be a confrontation. Another reason that I believe access to guns was easy is in the police reports they speak about the other guns police found in the house that the mother owned. Had the son had to break into her safe or tamper with locks it might have had mention in the police report.
A good safe it doesn't matter how old you are cracking it is hard and damage to the locks is evident, it would be a one time deal. My safe has a digital lock and takes a locksmith a good 30-40 minutes to open and holes have to be drilled through the door to gain access to the mechanism. S&G combo locks which are standard on decent gun safes take about the same due to the complexity of the tumblers. The another way to access a decent safe is sawing out the side or an axe but that only works on lower end models.

Another thing I have been thinking is this kid seemed pretty familiar with the firearms due to the death toll and the caliber of the guns used. Here is my take on why, he might have had some shooting time with the bushmaster because that is a rifle and at his age he can legally own one in that state however he did not own any firearms. This leads me to believe the mother might have taken her mentally ill son to the gun range a few times for that. A first timer with a AR style rifle which the bushmaster is will not do too well especially with adrenaline flowing.
Legally he was not of age to own a hand gun so he should have had little to no time with handguns but again either the mother or father took him to the range because the father owns two guns as well. Being able to kill someone with a 10mm glock with little to no practice is hard to say the least its muzzle flip is insane the 9mm might been a bit more doable without training.
Ear protection, someone that's never shot before would most likely over look needing ear protection since they never shot before. This would hurt accuracy as well with the twitching a person would do when firing.

This kid was labeled mentally ill and diagnosed with multiple personalities for a long time before this event, someone in his family was irresponsible on some level and in a sense assisted him in having the ability to mass murder.

Three guns used. Bushmaster, and a Sig Sauer and a Glock. Handgun was used to off himself, Bushmaster for the massacre.

There are plenty of hit pieces in the news over the weekend on the mother. They're making her out to be a freaky gun nut who took the kids shooting.

She may have took him shooting, and he may have had multiple personalities, but that doesn't mean she was conscious of any kind of predisposition for violence. Unless that kind of report comes out and proves to be true, I'm going with mom was surprised as well.

I'm guessing she took the kid to the range to deal with his autism. I never heard anything about schizophrenia, I heard he had Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism. She very well may have been misguided in teaching him to shoot thinking it would help bring him out of his shell or some other form of self help within the family to bolster the kid and make him feel like part of something instead of some outsider. We'll never know. She's dead and the news loves to dwell on the horrible.

President Obama is going to make good on making sure nothing like this happens ever again. Yeah sure he will. That asshole makes one impossible promise after another. You can't stop shit like this. Humans are awful and we are inventive, and creative and when one has the mind to do something fucked up, they find a way around the obstacles.

Some people are saying that if the principal was armed this wouldn't have happened. Bullshit. NO ONE expects a madman to walk into a school and start shooting. He would have been caught off guard and dead long before the thought of grabbing a gun came into his mind no matter what.

Anthony, from what I have heard, his mom was the owner of the guns he used, and trained him in their use. But that came early on, so I am not sure how accurate that information is.

All we're getting is the ghoul news now. They're all focusing on the horrible, lots of stories are coming out and I feel they are mostly on speculation. The mother is dead. No one is going to know the truth at this point.

They're holding a vigil here at the shore, in NJ for them. WTF? Unless there is a whole community of family that has family up there, I don't get it.

The media is going to go apeshit on this till the public is good and ready for whatever King Obama and Congress will want to pass into law. It's quite obvious, especially the more they show the horrible aspects and footage of all the sobby vigils, but most people aren't high enough on the the levels of intellect to notice it. Eventually, after everyone has either felt sorry or guilty enough (for some reason), legislation will begin.

These days, it isn't the event, its the political opportunity around it that is important. No one can *mourn* as the occasion calls for, as one group must always be ready to fight off the other group who sees this as a convenient opportunity to ban guns, increase the police state, raise taxes on something, whatever the case.

Fuck America.

I got some really weird, paranoid cranked up email the other day over this. Some conspiracy theory bullshit that this was done on purpose to take guns away. It's truly insane to read. No matter how much the far left want to stifle our rights, I don't buy that the govt did this to force law changes.

I assume nothing is too far fetched to be true. I also assume nothing about everything.

Fast & Furious was done by the US Gov't to see where guns from the US went once in Mexico, largely with the aim of restricting them. So you tell me.

Do remember that Obama is a student of the Rahm Emmanuel school of thought which states: "Never waste a good crisis."

As usual the left side of the fence quickly jumps up and blames the gun and not the shooter then cries for gun control.

Note: NYC, Chicago and Philadelphia ALL have local gun control......how's that working out?

Why aren't they hanging on the reports that on the same day (last Friday) a man went into a school in China and attacked people with knives?
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-5755...3-injured/

The most deadly school attack was in 1927 in Bath, Michigan.

No calls for banning either dynamite or knives.

The Oklahoma bombing killed 168 people, 19 of them were small children in day care.
Where were the calls to ban rental vans, ammonium nitrate or nitromethane?

9-11-01, terrorists crash planes into both towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. A fourth plane was prevented from going to its target by the passengers. 2,996 people were killed and over 6,000 injured.
We never heard calls for a ban on commercial airplanes or box cutters, now did we?

The American left has a hard-on for guns.

They're also claiming this to be the worst school massacre in American history.
