My feed is blowing up with stupidity today. It's sad how they're saying how women's rights are doomed. It's even sadder they have no idea how the system works and think they can just dig up old cases and reverse them willy nilly.

This destruction of his reputation is frightening. This will now be the norm to destroy someone's reputation, life and make life for those around them miserable. This won't be for just someone who is famous, but anyone with a grudge now has the power through facebook to destroy anyone they dislike and the mob mentality will follow along like the sheep they are.

I will be interested in how he performs as a Justice in spite of all the

Besides which he is an experienced beer drinker.  He would never drink this piss water.  Unless he has slipped far enough down the slope...

Do I think he did what he was accused of?  Yes.  Do I think it was ever possible to prove it?  No.  Do I think it should have come up sooner?  Yes.  Did I believe Anita Hill?  Yes.

To be honest I am far more concerned about how he reacted.  He came back angry, pissed off, not impartial, biased, upset that he was questioned.  Do I think this is how he will rule on every case?  Emotionally and personally?  Yes.  I don't think he can or will be impartial.

And I also feel that Trumpy picked him solely based on his personal views on prosecution of sitting presidents.

Will it be the end of everything?  No.  People still need to elect the people that they feel will properly represent them.  And then those representatives need to enact laws that represent their constituents will.  The court can only interpret laws against the laws.  Will he try to overturn Roe v Wade?  Only if a case comes up.  He can't just try that.  Some people don't understand how it works.  Same people bleat about 'Impeach Trump'!  I always wonder if they think Pence will any better, because they would be making him President!

I hear ya. That's why my post prior to yours came about. Did any of his "shocking behavior" happen as an adult? If so, he's a douche, but if it was just high school drunken parties carried on into college and ended there I'm really not giving much of a shit over it. I'm not so sure about Anita Hill. Again - I don't care. It's in the past. I'm not sure if he can be impartial either, we shall see on that. I hope he is. The court is supposed to be the one place where judges must step back from their own personal feelings and be completely impartial. We all know they don't though, but to how far do they not?

And really the SCOTUS is only supposed to rule on the constitutionality of a lower court decision or new legislation. Too many people are looking to the courts to legislate from the bench. There is a reason there are 3 branches of government in a representative republic. Balance of power.

Hopefully Kavanaugh will be able to be absolutely objective.

Great start to the season...I see that the Red Wings just won their first game. Couldn't help but love that those assholes lost their first 7 games...

That's OK, the Flyers are already looking like they're prepping to lose it all again.

So we're up at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut to see Trans Siberian Orchestra tomorrow with friends we met at Dead Man's Curve back in September and I gotta say that this place kicks Atlantic City's ass! Except milk. The little stores by the concierge has no milk so I gotta order it via room service for the coffee in the morning. fuckers.

I've seen Trans Siberian Orchestra live here in Denver. Was a good show. Maybe a bit over done on the stage production as I went for the music, but a good show. Good reason for a trip downtown.
