Much of the demise of "mom & pop" stores is NOT simply big box stores moving in. The "expert advice" that USED to be part of the small shops has gone by the wayside and a large number of them have astronomical pricing.

We still have a reasonable local hardware store (mostly). But there are times that he prices shit through the roof and it's worthwhile to burn the gas and run 18 miles to Lowe's, Home Depot or Tractor Supply.

So here I sit alongside the highway with a blown trailer tire.

Service guy got here pretty fast BUT........the emergency dispatch center told him the erong tire size so he had to go back to the shop to get the correct one. SHIT!

On top of that I have a USDA sealed load and will probably not get there till the inspector leaves. Then I'll have to wat till around lunch before they return and can break the seal.

FUCK

On 78 just before the exit for Bethlehem, Pa.

Got rolling again at 8:00 and got to S. Plainfield at 9:15. Thankfully USDA waited for me. Sitting in the dock getting unloaded as I'm posting this Smile

Well, that definitely wasn't you! You come in from the north. This was northbound just before the IKEA exit. Smile

I walk in asking for stabilizer and I get a whole ritual on how to take care of the pool. I explain I only need stabilizer, I know what I'm doing etc and she hands me a bucket of stuff. I get home and it's not what I need. I bring it back and she's giving me a hard time about it. "We don't take chemicals back" - fuck you bitch you will now. She did and I got what I needed at quite a high price. Top it off she fucked up the return and returned the one thing twice, had to charge it back to my card and then charge me for the new product. So we all know that credit back on the card takes a few days. Dollar says she fucked it up worse than I imagine.

I won't be going there again. It's worth the gas and time to travel 25 miles to the "big store".

^ that stupid old hag credited me twice and forgot to take the charge back. I just put an alert on my account to prevent her from trying to correct it. It's the price she has to pay now for being stupid. 86
