How about this for a real life shot that reminds one of Independence Day.

Stunning: The magnificent sunrise was pictured this morning from the top of Glastonbury Tor, in Somerset

Isn't it funny how we can see things like that? Someone at another forum had some baobab trees as their avatar and it reminded me of some 20 year old fantasy art for an Anne McCaffrey novel.

we should do a game where we post pictures like that, and then try to find the fantasy/scifi art equivalent. could be fun! Wink

Shoot LK a PM about that if you are serious and if you want it in his "game room" forum.

Zhangjiajie National Park mountains. They actually inspired the floating Hallelujah mountains that you saw in the movie avatar and they have actually renamed some of the mountains here the Hallelujah mountains because of Avatar.

There's just so much beautiful landscape out there.

I like this tranquil scene from China, showing how efficiently the land is used for rice cultivation. Sort of reminds me of a Hobbit landscape.

Been there Beee

It is better in the flesh. Those mountains in the valley have stories about each one and there are always clouds over them although we didn't see it as heavy as that because we were there during a drought.

Recommend dropping into Murphy the town at the top of the mountains for an ice cream and hope to see Duck Billed Platypus in the river (we didn't).
