I went out and bought THIS bike, in satin (flat) black.

Still trying to sell the Fuji with no bites at all on the Craigslist. Matt may wind up keeping the Fuji instead.

I should have the bike by Wednesday / Thursday and be riding by the end of the week Smile

Nice.....My green mountain bike that I'm sure you have seen many pictures of in various places is a 3700, without disk brakes though. I have had good luck with mine, it has many, many, miles on it riding trails, dirt, and I even rode it back and forth to work one year without much problems.
I have wore out the brakes, a chain, and the cassette. Other than that is has been pretty trouble free.

I saw another marlboro fuji on CL here.

Also, we just bought a giant roam about a week ago for my wife. It seems on the same order but not a full on mountain bike. I kinda like it. Of course I saw two or three other bikes at the shop that I wanted also.

Yeah, I like the disc brakes on mine.

Matt's going to keep the Fuji instead of the crappy bike Bobby gave him. Well, it's not that crappy - Bob said he paid $600 for it last year or two ago. Gonna give him first refusal and if he don't want it back, we'll sell it to deflect some of the cost of the Trek.

Hey Twist, is that a hybrid type bike?

The dealer talked me into the Trek. I asked him what's the difference between the two and if he were me, what bike would he buy and, although he didn't give me an answer, he said the bikes are comparable and there is no difference really but brand and personal preferences. Since I don't have a personal preference other than it's not a 30 year old Huffy, the Trek was about $100 less than the Giant so I went with less money.

Go figure - it's pouring rain today, the day I'm to get the bike.

I'll wait for the rain to stop, I don't want to pick it up in the rain and get it soaked before I even get a chance to ride it.

So I'm looking at the ticket from the shop and I notice my phone number is wrong on there. Great. I call and give the right number and added two kick stands on the list.

Turns out this guy likes to buy as much American made stuff that he can. Sadly, that's not many items but the kick stand is one of them. Smile
He sells only one brand of kick stand and I ordered two of them. One for me and one for the Fuji.

I guess it could be called a hybrid, it has 700c wheels, but a little wider and a little more aggressive than you would see on the usual hybrid, more like a cross tire. The front shock locks out so it would be like a rigid fork on the road, and it has trigger shifters like a mountain bike, rather than twist grips like the usual hybrid.
So I guess my take on it is that it is a hybrid leaning towards the mountain bike side rather than a hybrid leaning towards the road side, or something like that.
