At last! Yahoo
Got a call on Tuesday the work shop had space to start the Saab. Mark was at work so I had to wait until he got home for us to get it down there.

Mark took photo's on Thursday of the initial preparation. It looks so bare by itself in the shop, no trim, no windows. It will have different doors and boot and the 'running board' is getting a total custom job to gully the rain water off better (an improvement on a design flaw).
They jokingly said did we still want it in bright canary yellow?Stirthepot

It better come home in Arctic White! Tantrum

When its done I'll get some photo's set up. 26 days to go..........

It ain't cheesy. I like that stuff too. One of these days I would love to get an old, and I mean pre WW2 Harley and restore it to original working condition and a vintage early 70's muscle car. I want to do the work, well most of it, myself too.

Mark insisted on 'popping by' yesterday to seen the work. I can see his point, make sure they were getting on with it and there are no problems. Only, he does hold them up. They are taking photo's to put on their web-site, so we will get those.

It looks like a very sick patient in hosptial now after bad plastic surgery. Derek was glad we did go in he discovered some bad news on the tail gate, a huge hole. Dale has done some brilliant work on the doors and back panels, but still some way off the re-spray Sad

One thing they have said considering it has never had anything done to it like this since 1971 it is in pretty good nick!

I have my eye on a 1966/1967 Pontiac Firebird that's just sitting under a tree. I pass it on my way to Boyertown and I'm going to run down there one of these days with the personal vehicle and go ask if the owner would part with it.

If so, I'll re-do it and throw a 455 under the hood. Yeah, I know, that engine wasn't offered in them but none the less it would show incredible neck breaking performance with little modification! Some mild engine work should produce a mid to high 12 second machine and a shot of giggle gas could produce low 11's or possibly high 10's.

Can't wait to see the Saab pics. Load them as soon as you can Rhu.

Mark says have you been down to WV. We saw some great muscle cars there all begging for new homes.
He wanted to buy a Dodge Charger and ship it home (worth a fortune to the American club over here) but it meant hiding it in the 'scary barn' at my uncles place but he was more scared of my aunt to let us do it Hysterical

Photo's honest it is a basket cse at the moment- I'll see what I can put together from what we have.
