Thought you would like to see Stratos (I call him Strat), he's on the right.
No1 son named him.
He is beginning to settle with Cooper quite well but the Berlin Wall will be staying I think, more to do with Cooper's behaviour.

We cleared the empty hutches out of the shed to send to the rescue centre.
Only John hasn't been over to collect them.
Tonight Fool
Liz emailed. 100 piggies are about to need rehoming locally, how did I feel about more adoptions?

What do I do? Help

You either lose your mind like I did with two new cats and adopt more or you seriously consider your workload and carefully consider adopting more or not.

If it's not, start making phone calls and put notices all over on Facebook.

On my FB page, click each website link - "Like" each one when you get to the page (if you haven't already) and you can post on the wall there about adopting piggies.

"friend" Karen Clark-Stapleton (my friend in the UK) - tell her in a "note" when friending her that you are my friend and I told you to friend her and post about the piggies on her wall. She's a good one to post animal adoption stuff out on. Wink

Look for some kind of adoption resource in your area on FB as well and post there.

Just make sure you post the links where they can adopt so they don't bug you Wink

Just had another message from Liz, who told me about the rescues. She has taken in 15 (mainly suspected pregnant sows) and said 'no pressure'.
A lot of our friends have donated food, which I will too. Mark said he will look at work and see if the Site Manager will let him do a stock take and bring some stuff home for them.
100 though!
There was those guinea pigs in a house in Norfolk a while back, that hit the National news. I wonder why this hasn't?

Mark suggested I offered to help Liz out, give her the hutches and any vet bills. Just to show he hasn't gone soft, he then added, 'does Liz need any recipes? I still have that marinaded pig recipe from Anthony when he was in South America'

when I was a young girl I adopted one piggy and ended up with 5 total... now I know i didn't have problems like I thought I did back then. This is staggering to think of... I hope it works for the best as I have more cats than god and no room for piggies Sad

How many adopted out so far or is this the first lot to go since you posted?

Well Clap
The good news all piggies have been rescued and I haven't got any of them.

I've seen one the Liz has and its a mess, poor little mite. She has 15 and Jenny had the rest and they have gone to a shelter in the North country so I guess Jilly will know about them eventually.

No1 son was disappointed after all his efforts of moving hutches and scrubbing them out and buying in extra hay and food.
So I told Liz and she has asked if we can take a couple of her boys. She could bring them over next time she is home or......
I'm thinking of a weekend in the camper to Gatwick airport!

The sad thing is, these boys are healthy but to do so much un-necessary travel seems a shame.

Update:
I've had an email asking to help with the babies as and when they arrive- fostering them while they find homes.
I'm going to talk to Liz about what she thinks, and I've already talked to Angela (who has 30 piggies locally, but no longer breeds).
Also I have one home already for two Biggrin

Collect Rupert and Robin on the 19th.

All change! wot

I can see now why Liz is dizzy Tease
As I was parking the car my mobile went off. Jenny told me about another rescue which she was totally unable to do anything about she has piggies already everywhere!
We discussed the new problem and with a bit of game of piggie chess I may end up with still taking Robin and Rupert (I've promised) and a father with his sons. Liz is taking mother (who is bound to be pregnant again).

Also I'm off to do a bit of 007 work.............wonder if I can get any gadgets attached to my motorbike, revolving number plate, radar and camera would be useful Biggrin

Wow, you're "lousy" with guinea pigs!

Are you going to wind up keeping them all or fostering and trying to find homes?
