Well having four children that have been four at one time or another, I can unequivocally say that four year olds absolutely have the ability and self control to be able to enjoy a meal anywhere without acting like a ding dong or ruining the experience for other people.

It is not the child that cannot control themselves, it is the parent that doesn't have reasonable expectations for their children, and I might add, if you have a child that doesn't control themselves, take them to the park or Mickey D's, not to a nice dinner establishment.

I'll add.....I abhor it when we leave OUR kids at home to go out to a nice dinner and some effer is sitting next to us with their squalling brat doing nothing to shut the viper up. I mean, I know babies cry, but when you have a four year old just crying for no good reason, well, I'd like to take mommy and daddy outside for a good old fashioned ass kickin'.

It never fails when I go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, (yeah I know, I'm just asking for it) there is some kid in there crying and whining the.whole.entire.time. ARGH.

Should I go and tell you about the time in Olive Garden that the little shit was whining, kicking the seats, touching Matt's hair from behind and having fits because the brat didn't want to eat? Should I go on and tell you how the parents just gave him a portable DVD player and he proceeded to toss it back at them because he didn't like the movie in it? Or how the waitress coddled the kid with crayons and then sympathized with the parents how "it's a family restaurant and sometimes kids are just fussy."

NO! Fussy is one thing, an outright brat destroying our quiet night out is another. We specifically asked for a table in a quiet area with no kids and it was fine until just before our entrees came out - then they sat this horrible family.

No, I'm with you.... If WE were able to behave way back in the "olden days" as children there is no excuse for today's youngsters bad behavior. And what about the parents who refuse to take the hysterical infant out of the dining room to quiet it down - like parents used to do in "the olden days"?

We're headed out to Kmart for small crappy things tonight. This thread is getting me "battle ready"! Rofl

Ah the joys of rural living.

When I did live in town (small town) I still didn't have these sort of problems due to the idea I instilled into the heads of the town's youth. I simply showed them I was not afraid to discharge a firearm within boro limits and that I am an excellent shot. Any questions?

Living rurally we do have our share of boorish, inconsiderate, destructive little bastards but the same rule applies with a bit less convincing and a bit more demonstration. Especially doing a bit of night fire Biggrin

Funny, my neighbors can get fucked with but they always opt to skip my place.

I mean come on......would YOU fuck with a guy who is a known shooter and has an engine with no vehicle around it in his yard?

Make a paper for the kid's parents to sign saying you are not responsible for injuries to their kids if the kids come into your yard and take it over to thlem. Put a bunch of legal sounding crap in it.

Clap brilliant idea, Pickles! Thanks. I may even have copies of my old hold harmless agreements from when I had my pony ride business. I can use that as a model. I dont' think this is a legal binding doc if they do sign it but hey, it does say the parents are aware the kid goes in my yard and he is aware of the danger.

Rofl I tell that to my friend Karen all the time when she drives me nuts with stuff for her site that I can't sort out due to her messing things up!

I would hope the fact that the neighbor would walk over with a paper that says "enter at your own risk" would be enough to keep the kids out of your yard.

Great Idea!!!

Actually, beating someone with a rolled newpaper that's been soaked in water is supposed to hurt like a bastard....and not leave any marks, or so I've been told.
