Some of you know I work in Pharmacy, therefore I see all sorts of characters!
It can be quite sad when we lose a patient to terminal illness, or their mental state of mind takes them away for awhile.
Then we have good news like Pickles brother, when a patient get a long awaited operation and is on the mend.

Yesterday was different. Heart
We have a foster mother who is a regular with various babies she is caring for at any given moment. For the last year she has cared for a baby with the happiest disposition, blue eyes, red hair and pink cheeks! So Cuddley Smile
Today it has been officially adopted by her new parents. Foster Mum brought her in to say Goodbye before she heads off the the other side of town to live with a young couple who already have her sister, who is only 10 months older!
We are so going to miss her in the shop Aww

The down side is.....foster mum told us the natural parents are expecting another during the summer, which will get taken away at birth and the adoptive parents have already applied to the courts.

I know everyone has their human rights, but this couple ought to be stopped from having babies when it is known the child is immediately at risk once it arrives!
Thank goodness for Foster parents.

I agree, the people adopting and fostering them are saints. The real parents should be neutered.

You know, who's human rights overrule in a case like that? The parent's right to continue breeding, having baby after baby taken away from them or the babies that are born out of these selfish people to live in foster care until adopted? How many of those poor babies get the shit end of the stick in situations like that? We've all heard the many horror stories about foster care. Not every foster situation ends up like a fairy tale with a happy ending.

Congratulations to the baby for his permanent new home!
And thankfully there is someone like your foster mom who does a great job. Clap

Which ever way these kids get a raw deal.
I have got to know several foster carers, all specialise in different care. This lady's babies going straight to adoption or cares long term before the baby is returned to its natural mother. The carpenter who did some work on our house I've know through my job for years, he and his wife take on emergency cases, getting the police arriving at any hour of the night or day with a child and they never know for how long. His wife was a nurse (and they have 6 children of their own!)
Philip's friend Sammi was finally adopted by her foster parents after being returned to her natural parents to be battered so often Avril had had enough and appeal to the courts. She cares for battered kids still, and has adopted 3 (including Sammi) the twins are brain damaged 13 years old now, Nigel is so severe he is in a wheelchair.

Then there are the Sparkes, they take on teenagers, run aways and ADHD. Millie is a brownie in Christine's pack. 'Mini Me' Christine called her. She ran away from home age 6, but she also has behaviour problems. She sadly took a major step backwards when Christine died, But Mr Sparkes says she is getting better.

I couldn't do their job, patience of a saint and yes I think maybe Social Services do get it wrong and employ the wrong couple sometimes, but rarely.
