I watch just as much Wings games as you do. Rembmer, I live with a Detroit native?

Now, I beg to differ on those one sided and unfair calls. The Flyers have been singled out since their inception for calling them for nothing time and again.

Also, when did they start allowing the players to skate with their sticks straight up in the air? That was never allowed! In fact if I remember correctly, the rule was you can't have the blade of your stick higher than 4 feet off the floor or it was no higher than shoulder height. I can't remember which one but I know there was a restriction.

That changed years ago. I forget when. I think it was a bad change too.

What do you think of the possibility of getting the no-touch icing rule added for the NHL?

As for the Flyers getting called for "nothing"... that happens to every team. Tongue
All I'm saying is that BAD calls, which also includes NOT calling things that should have been, happen more frequently to the Wings than anyone. Like that slash to Lidstrom's face. Or all the hook/interference to Zetterberg that didn't get called either. I was happy they called that goaltender interference though. For once.

I would have to say that the Flyers are probably second behind the Wings in the bad call race. Maybe 3rd... but probably second. I honestly don't watch enough Flyers games to know exactly how bad it is since I only catch about 60% of other teams' games.

Well Matt will agree with me - he's seen / sees enough of both teams to know we lead the league in bad calls.

Fuck that no touch icing shit too. They've sissied up the game enough.

They also lied. They were supposed to take away the trapezoid behind the net out after the Olympics and they never did. The rule saying the goalie can only play the puck there too was supposed to go with it. Fucking liars. They're busy protecting candy asses like Sidney Crosby with shit like that.

Put the rules back to pre-lockout. It was sissy enough then, it's a disgrace now.

NO ONE should be allowed to play the puck while in the crease either. Fucking goalies can't even protect themselves. By allowing play in the crease it really nullifies the goalie interference rule. I mean by just entering the crease you're bugging the goalie and making his job that much more difficult, as if it isn't already! Now he has to fight off dirty cheaters like the Devils and not be able to defend himself. Well unless your Marty Brodeur..... he gets away with every dirty hit he hands out. Guaranteed. Matt tried to tell me that the refs or linesmen aren't looking at goalies to catch that stuff but Patrick Roy and Ron Hextall ALWAYS got called on the same shit that little worm gets away with. I pointed that out to him and he conceded his point to me. Smile

Bring back the old time Gordie Howe hockey! You are both right to a degree, Joan is Absolutely right about the Flyers being singled out game after game for penalties.

What THE FUCK!!!

Again tonight they don't call a high stick to a Wings' player's face! This time it was Miller. Wolski high sticked him right in the face and... just like 2 nights ago... no fucking call from the refs. Horse SHIT!

Calm down. You're going to burst a vein at this pace.

My team lost. I was out, came home to the last 4 mins to watch them blow it.

Ouch, I hate coming into a losing game right at the end.

Did you hear the stats about round 1 games? All 8 games were won by a single goal lead.

No, NOW I'm gonna bust a fucking vein. They just called Stuart for slashing for knocking on a guy's stick and he dropped it. Barely hit the stick, didn't hit the player at all. GAH!!!!

That means nothing. It's playoff hockey, all that counts is if you win or lose. By how much really don't matter.

When the Flyers pulled the goalie at 1 minute, no sooner did I say, "Don't pull Boucher. Every time they pull the goalie against NJ they always get scored on." and there went the puck in the net at :38 left to go. Go figure.

Some teams it just does not pay to pull even if it's the logical thing to do. I've seen the Flyers pull in a tie at .02 left quite a few times too. But once you pull the goalie, get scored on, all you do is kick yourself for the last half minute instead of trying to tie it up.

Oh and the Detroit game isn't even on here yet. They're finishing up the Chicago game first.
