Have you tried standard lighter fluid?
I've used it to strip gunk and all kinds of adhesive residue. Provided you don't let it sit you can even use it on cars/tricks and not damage the paint so if you try it on a corner of a tile in an area off to the side you could see what it does for you.
Just wet a paper towel corner and lightly scrub. Be sure to have a dry towel ready to wipe off any filmy residue left behind.
