Atlanta Dragway is seeing more than its share of fireballs this year.
Antron Brown destroyed his Top Fueler and Both Tim Wilkerson and Jack Beckman shredded their Funnycars. This was all in qualifying! They are under rain delay today and likely won't get to run eliminations until tomorrow.

Pretty amazing and a testament to NHRA safety rules that all 3 drivers walked away with nary a scratch!

I think we were actually watching this in the waiting area at the Cape May - Lewes Ferry Sunday on the Lewes side waiting for the boat!

After watching the last qualifying session which I DVR'd I found out that there were 5 more incidents during the sessions!
One had a Pro Mod car going sideways for around 300 feet!
That must have been one really hairy ride for the driver.
Crossed the lanes and smacked the wall then went sideways mostly airborne for nearly 300 feet then smacked the opposite wall after re-crossing the track.
Most of the carnage was caused by the weather lowering the temps which made for stellar air conditions and the track was really sticky for the first 400 feet. Everyone had to readjust through what normally would have been the tire shake zone and many pushed just a bit too hard.
