That is some top-notch camera work.
We get the hummingbirds here in the summer and it's so hard to see them with the naked eye. They almost look like cicadas they move so fast. They like my Rose of Sharon bushes.

I didn't know those little birds were so territorial, that one was even trying to fight a bee.

We have a couple hummingbird feeders around the house.
The one out back attracted 2 particular birds who became sort of iconic for us. One of them was a species that didn't even belong in this part of the country!
The little ruby throat whom we dubbed "The Red Baron" was quite unafraid of us and would actually perch on the deck railing and watch me grilling. Once he scared the shit out of me when he zipped up right beside my ear and just hovered there watching what I was doing. I mean he was only 6 inches away!

Thanks for sharing, it was brilliant. The bat carrying her baby was amazing to see.
Reminds me so much of the hummingbirds visiting my Aunts feeders on her porch when we were there. There was one male spent so much time shooing other birds off both feeders he was in a permanent loop de loop!

Hummingbirds are only found in the Americas.
Their range runs from just above Anchorage, AK to the central part of Argentina.
If you go to www.worldofhummingbirds.com you can download a KML file that will bring a highlight up which you can open in Google Earth. It will give you an overlay of the range and habitat of hummingbirds. Pretty cool application.
