As for fountain soda......there are very few places who can properly mix it correctly these days. When I was a kid it was very common to get fountain soda that was WAY better then the bottled product.
Since I grew up in the Philadelphia area (the birthplace of "alternate flavored Coke") I was accustomed to Cherry and Vanilla Coke long before the rest of the world even conceived it.
Most any Rexall Drug Store had a soda fountain and was probably the best with respect to getting the mix right. Ah for those days again!

Woolworth's lunch counter! BEST BLT's and a coke in the entire world then you had a waffle ice cream sandwich. That was the lunch my gran would take me for on our little outings together.
Best Woolworths was on 5th Ave and 86th street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY. Man, now you got me missing my granny.

Coffee is the only other liquid besides beer dammit!
Ok so maybe there's also vodka, rum, whiskey, cognac, brandy, tequila and some others but coffee and beer are the main fluids! Alright?????
