I'm thinking that the use of pepper spray was a better choice than

using a bulldozer.

Otherwise, there is something wrong with the concept that when someone is breaking the law,

it is the Police's fault.

No one said it was the police's fault.

There are better choices on how to break up that chain - Havoc mentioned one of them.
I would have used water. A fire hose with cold water on a cool day will do the trick and it won't blind or burn anyone. Worst case they'll catch a cold. The more delicate ones will get the flu.

I just know that even though I could argue each one of the points you made from a position of experiance, you wouldn't listen or change your mind.

I think the only way to convince you would be to pepper spray you, and that just wouldn't be good forum edicate.Zombie

Is it against the law to have a peaceful protest?

I suppose it would depend on where.

For example, having a peaceful protest in the middle of a busy Interstate highway during rush hour is probably not lawful.

To me, there is nothing peaceful about a protest that is being disruptive in any manner.

Blocking the street (unless a permit was appropriate), blocking a sidewalk, blocking the entrance to a building, etc. is not "peaceful" if it is disturbing the peace.

If a fire-hose had been utilized in this thread's situation, people would be complaining that "the law" had overstepped their bounds by fire-hosing the protesters.

And so it goes...

Arm linked daisy chains are intended for one thing, that is to block a right of way.

Like I already said, exercising your rights and protesting is not illegal, violating other peoples rights while doing so is illegal.

Pepper spray is no fun. Neither is mace. I've experienced both, and treated people that have had both.

It would take a hell of a stretch to get that concept from this thread. Some intellectual dishonesty as well. The concept that no matter what they do, the police are in the right is reprehensible and goes directly against my Classical Liberal roots. It also goes against my direct observation as well.

I deleted your duplicate post, Biker Dude.

Pepper spray isn't supposed to be fun.

I qualified with pepper and mace as well as the PR-24,the asp baton, the taser and my firearm.

Pepper by far is the least offensive and the least damaging to the human body.

No matter how you slice it , Protesting in a way that deprives other people of their right to use a public causeway is illegal.

You can't just claim the police were wrong and expect it to fly.

These people didn't choose their location or their mode of protest very well, they chose both in such a way as to cause a confrontation, they got what they wanted and they really should stop whining like a buch of retarded bitches.

It's called personal responsibility.
