I hear you about being trapped. That's exactly how I feel living here in NJ. I hate this place with all my being and I do not want to die here. I don't want my final resting place to be stinkin' NJ. I so regret moving here and worse, I regret buying another house after my divorce here instead of moving first out of state. I just wasn't thinking.
On the bright side of this, we're doing OK considering the economy and job situation compared to the rest of the country so this is the better place to be trapped I guess. I feel like it's Jimmy Carter all over again without the part about having to steal food and scam landlords.

A youngish guy (mid 30s, maybe) at another forum has been posting about how his wife kicked him out when she found out about his heroin addiction. She's supported him for years, working as a nurse while he stayed home with the kids and he only recently had gotten a job restocking shelves at a grocery store. So he moved to a new state, started NA and apparently already has a new sweetheart because she just joined the forum and they talk lovey-dovey to each other.
I don't get it. This guy is most likely employed in a low paying job, has a terrible relationship history, is a recovery drug addict and he's ALREADY found a girlfriend? He's not even good looking. I don't get it.

it's not gossip yet, but the next time the young guy who lives across the street in my nice quiet neighborhood pulls in his drive at 0630 with some booming-giant-speaker crap shaking the windows up and down the street, i'm going to shoot his car windows out. it will be front page news here when they give me a medal.

I have a meeting on Monday night at the fire department!
I will get all of the local gossip that is for sure!!!!!!!!!
But then again I get it in the morning and the evening everyday. I have a friend who calls and gives me the heads up every day.
