Those blocks are crumbling. you can't see from the pictures but I assure you they are not safe to reuse even filling them in. They are on a lumpy footing that we can't even dig out because of how stupidly rigged they seem to be TO THE FOUNDATION! Every time we start a project plans always change on how it's going to get done because of the terrible way they built this house. It was built in '62 and I really don't think there were any proper building codes they had to adhere to. We open the walls and the beams aren't even all 16" on center. It's a variety of widths! Don't even ask about the pipes! They need to be redone as some go from small to big and some from big to small. Water pressure stinks. RE: The side door project - twisteroo - 10-29-2014 I still don't see any sort of drink holder being installed.
RE: The side door project - Twitchin Kitten - 10-29-2014 Patience sir. RE: The side door project - Flamethrower - 10-29-2014 I would have taken the easy way out and just gone to the local hardscape place and gotten some pre-formed steps. Place, level and presto! Place, level and presto! yeah, I don't think they'd fit in the car and I couldn't place them myself. What I'm doing will look nice and next summer I'll carry it around to the front. |
