Hey Havoc, Thanks for that TSP stuff!
I cleaned the grill yesterday, fixed bits that needed fixing and put it all back together and it looks like a new grill! Well, except for the paint on the outside. It's a bit faded from being in the sun all day long. The cover shredded over this winter so we'll have to get another one soon.
I tried a little of it on my ruined vinyl kitchen floor but it didn't make a dent in that crud stuck to it from that Future floor finish. When I have time, I'm going to try letting a little soak for a few minutes and see if that works. You can't leave that soak for too long I imagine or you'll screw up the flooring entirely.

If you just want to remove the buildup use an amonia and water solution at about 30 to 50% strength, you will have to reseal the floor when you're done, try this product, I have used it and was satisfied with the results.

I don't think that stuff will work. I've also tried the ammonia solution AND the Armstrong floor cleaner with the ammonia as per instructed by Armstrong.
Three years of buildup of that acrylic floor finish left the floor gross. I'm going to let the floor get dirty for the day and take a picture of it before I wash it tonight so you can see what I have going on.
I'll do a clean/dirty photo.
The only reason I'm letting it go to dirty for you is so you can see it. It does not show up for some reason on the camera when it's clean. The white tiles are the worst.

OK Havoc, I finally got a pic of the floor for you.
When it's nice and clean, you can't see the nasty shit from that Future floor polish at all. The camera just doesn't pick it up.
So, you got a dirty tile. Believe it or not, this is dirt from one day. This nasty gunk that is stuck on my floor gets dirty so fast compared to the tile beneath it.
I only have this crud where it's open to the sun, nowhere else, like under the cabinets or along the edges, but by the dog food area, if you peel their rug back you can see that the floor yellowed with the sun where this stuff is still on.
They told me to use their Armstrong floor cleaner with Ammonia, Make a half and half mixture with a gallon of hot water and then soak a 3x3 area for five minutes at a pop and then scrub like mad. The fumes were overwhelming, you could scrub until your hands bleed and that shit ain't coming off!
So, if you got any tricks that will not damage my lungs I'd appreciate it. I can't stand looking at that film of ick.

Acrylics on VCT tiles can be a little tough, I used a mechanical rotary machine and teflon pads along with the stripper.

Oh I tried all kinds of scrubby pads, even steel wool and nothing dented that shit! I'm afraid I'm going to damage the finish of the floor if I use anything harsher like a mechanical tool.
There's a phone number on that pdf, I'm going to give the company a call and see what they say about it. It does not say anything in there that it will remove acrylic so I'm thinking a call first is in order.

Have you tried standard lighter fluid?
I've used it to strip gunk and all kinds of adhesive residue. Provided you don't let it sit you can even use it on cars/tricks and not damage the paint so if you try it on a corner of a tile in an area off to the side you could see what it does for you.
Just wet a paper towel corner and lightly scrub. Be sure to have a dry towel ready to wipe off any filmy residue left behind.

It's not an adhesive residue, it's hard acrylic. It never softens no matter how wet I make the tiles. I even tried steam.
I tried GUNK and it didn't work. I'm a little skeptical using lighter fluid on my whole floor, you know, fire and all that.

It is only flammable while wet. The residue is not at all flammable. I have seen it work on old resin based varnish so I thought that maybe it would cut through old floor shine product as well.
Lighter fluid is basically napthalene which is a petroleum product. The other possible thing you could try outside of a commercial stripper would be mineral spirits.

This is acrylic - literally plastic. I need something that is going to break down plastic and not destroy the vinyl tile beneath.
Would you believe that floor is only 6 years old? That shit happened the second application of the product in the first year of the floor. It sickens me to see my floor like that.
I even tried a nylon scraper during the soaking process recommended by Armstrong and it didn't make a dent.
