RE: Bodyguard Blankets - AnthonyG - 08-13-2015 I dont know where you getting the idea that these are going to be constant scare items these kids wouldnt be carrying them. They wouldn't teach the kids anything about them really they would never see them. They get stowed in a case in the room closet like we had the fire blankets in the lab classrooms. Little kids especially don't give a shit about mostly anything in their environment. Lets say they ask a question whats in the case in the back or on the wall, oh just some blankets if it gets cold in here or they are my teaching supplies etc you give them a basic bs answer and then they move on. If shit hits the fan the teacher hands them out to the kids just like life preservers on a cruise ship. This is all based on if those blankets had proper stopping power and protected the kids heads which like I said its a good idea if product was made properly. In reference to your other comment twitch of "how the hell does that make any sense", in most recent shooting the kids were barricaded in a class room shooter pushed his way in and kids and teacher were slaughtered because they had no where to go and nothing to protect them between the shooter and themselves. The kids that survived were the ones stuffed in the classroom bathroom. In another shooting people were alerted of what was going on and people while running away down the halls were shot from behind. In both cases this "blanket barrier" properly designed would have saved some lives. The guys are totally trying to make a buck off the tragedy I see that but the idea has validity if done right and cheaply thats my point. RE: Bodyguard Blankets - Twitchin Kitten - 08-13-2015 Do you know how hard it would be to start handing out blankets in this situation? People panicking bullets flying and you think they're going to remain calm and hand out blankets? I doubt it. That's why these maniacs pick crowded, closed buildings for this kind of shit. Easy pickings. Pretty sure no one here is thinking it's a going to be a constant thing, just discussing that the entire IDEA of handing things like this out to children is ridiculous and again, opportunistic of the makers. I want them to be kids, not always thinking something horrible is going to happen. If you mean the paintball thing, I just wouldn't let them know that I had an ulterior motive. Just that we were doing something fun. They would gain skills without being aware of it. Gotta be sneaky sometimes!
