Don't matter. I just checked your link and it has a link to his campaign page.

http://www.barackobama.com/news/entry/the-obama-event-registry

Apparently it's there. It's not so easy to find if you are searching and it's listed under the blog, which is even harder to find a direct link to this. But if you click the button to register you end up here:

The news sources tend to ignore a lot of the more ridiculous things Obama does and will only go on about important things that make him look bad if their hand is forced, like the Fast and Furious scandal. That's been going on for months but the news has only been giving that a passing one or two lines of comment until recently.

I heard about it on the news break on NJ101 (radio station) this morning on the way back from S. Plainfield. Apparently it's for real and not tongue in cheek.

Can you believe both the arrogance and simultaneous desperation of this guy?

Well, in a word, yes.

The man has built himself a pseudo-cult of personality, so of course he is going to try and play on the magic of being the first black president from humble roots promoting change and some bullshit about hope.

The moment I saw his soviet or Mao-like agitprop posters with buzzwords and rallying slogans, it was confirmed. He just might win the election though, to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if he did anyways. Even better if he does, so the whole thing can find it's death just that much faster without Obamugabe worrying about another election for the High Throne in the Realm. Christ, I would hate the lingering limbo-years of Romney before the American voter stood up to bring in another fucktard to finish us off.

So as an outsider....I haven't been exposed to all the horrors he's committed. Anybody care to enlighten me?

Also, I'm impressed that somebody knows who Mugabe is.

I don't think he holds a candle to the idiot that was in office before him.

Now be fair.....Dubya's first 5 years were rather positive. It was the final 3 where he turned into a total chimptard by virtue of his "reaching across the aisle" and not standing on his original principles This was all in the name of "compromise" with the left side of the spectrum. Realize that the only compromise that the likes of Pelosi, Reid, Frank et al recognize is that which has the opposition cave to their demands.

At this point he allowed spending to go on unchecked, instituted that ridiculous No Child Left Behind nightmare, earmarked astronomical figures for the stimusham...stimulus and generally went along with whatever else the vocal left demanded.

Then Barry was immaculated...I mean inaugurated and had 2 years of a Democrat controlled House and Senate that couldn't even pass a budget. All the while they airclaimed that the Republicans were blocking them. That was impossible as the Dems controlled a majority in both houses and regardless of what the Republicans did they couldn't stop the Dems even if all of them unanimously voted against them!

Fuck Barry H. Satori (his REAL name) and any legislators who are pushing the cart directly into the path of destruction.

I'm talking about that fucking "war" in Iraq.

RE: Don't take wedding gifts, give the money to me instead! - LKTraz - 06-26-2012

That clusterfuck has been grossly mishandled in so many ways. Dubya had help screwing that one up. Too many chiefs and no clear plan. But yeah.....G.W. had a big hand in fucking that up.

Do remember......members of congress signed off on us going in. That INCLUDES our current President, VP and Sec.State, all US Senators at the time.

Yea, Obama is a wholesome supporter of the legions marching in foreign lands. Recently, he signed an agreement with Karzai to extend US presence in the region for an indeterminate amount of time. How nice.

LKTraz made an excellent post, as the first few years of the Bush presidency were relatively decent as I recall them (and even then, I was politically aware and astute). The war in Iraq was stupid (so stupid, as I have found out personally), but both sides of the aisle signed off on that one, and currently have interests in the region to an extent. Bush, in his final term, when he didn't have too much of a reason to so do, did make those terrible decisions concerning bailouts, lending problems, etc, and so we suffer for that, and his compromise with the same assholes who are in office now. Despite this, I would say he and Obama are not on equal planes, and Obama is certainly a worse president than Bush ever was.

I know who Mugabe is, and I am sure the world loves that wholesome democratic decision they worked so hard to engender and provide for, because Zimbabwe is doing better now than it was when it was Rhodesia.....unfortunately, I haven't been following Africa lately. Usually, I find the place entertaining from a spectator's point of view.

The reason I combined names, is that I see a striking parallel in how both of them behave. Both of them have huge cult followings, both run their administrations like Banana Republics (for the US: Fast and Furious, EPA crackdowns, USDA agents taking down milk sellers, Federal bullying of the states, leveraging tax money against them, the love of the TSA, violation of privacy rights, etc, are all examples), both seem to not have a proper concept of money and how it works, and finally, contempt for vast segments of their populations.

We were doing really well financially during the first six years of Bush. The war aside, what he did at home to keep jobs and money flowing was what kept us in good financial shape in the private sector. I don't understand why he caved like he did in the end and I always said he did too much to appease the opposite side and try to be bi-partisan.

the war is a separate issue but I believe he forced himself into it to a degree. He sent inspectors into Iraq because of Saddam's past history and boastings about weapons and what not. Saddam did not cooperate and made it impossible to know the truth. If he had no weapons, why give inspectors such a hard time? It would have been over that much faster and all would be good. Bush had to keep his "or else" promise. If he didn't we'd be a laughingstock. He did and he's hated for it. It was a no win situation for him on that.

Personally, my finances have always done better during a republican presidency than a democratic with one exception, the second term of Clinton's administration.
