I signed the petition.

The senior senator in Utah is for, the younger guy is against. I'm definitely voting for the younger guy when he's up for reelection.

Thanks for all the links.

This is what I had to say about it on MyBB.com - Listen to both videos. They're well worth it.

The subliminal mind fuck America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the Aryan nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I'm the faggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along to the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the Aryan nation.
Where everything isn't meant to be okay.

We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
For that's enough to argue.

Don't want to be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information age of hysteria.
It's calling out to idiot America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.

We're not the ones who're meant to follow.

And yes, we are the modern day "Aryan" nation. The US can be more fascist than Nazi Germany in many many ways. It makes me sick to live here.

And here's another good one. Speaking out when Bush was president. Speaks really well to how broken the US Government is.

You know, nothing is stopping you from leaving if it's so awful living here. Not even your kid.

On the big picture, we are not so bad as a country. We have our flaws and much needs to be changed, but sitting back and complaining, doing nothing except to bitch about it without taking up so much as a pen to write a letter does no one any good.

Run for office. Get involved locally and work your way up. Nothing is stopping you if you are determined. That's the point of this "blackout" - people speaking up and getting involved.

Let's hope you wrote some letters and made a couple of phone calls instead of telling us Green Day is all knowing.

This sounds good:

SOPA Derailed

Quote:U.S. House Judiciary Committee Member Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA), and Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) opponent has announced that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor has promised him that he will not bring the bill to the floor. That mean, for all practical intents and purposes, that SOPA is dead.

In a press release, Issa announced that he was canceling his Wednesday hearing on “the impact of Domain Name Service (DNS) and search engine blocking on the Internet, has been postponed following assurances that anti-piracy legislation will not move to the House floor this Congress without a consensus.”

Issa said, “Majority Leader Cantor has assured me that we will continue to work to address outstanding concerns and work to build consensus prior to any anti-piracy legislation coming before the House for a vote.” Without the Majority Leader’s support, SOPA won’t get to the House’s floor, it will not be voted on, and this makes it essentially dead.

And:

Quote:Why did the House reverse its course? According to Issa on Twitter, first the Internet protests had a big impact.

Bold mine.

So, we can make a difference.

RE: Companies want to censor our interwebs. - Twitchin Kitten - 01-18-2012

Yeah, but we need to keep on this. PIPA will be pushed through instead.
Just because this isn't going to the house floor, does not mean it is going to go away. All they're going to do is tweak it and pass it some other way. "Majority Leader Cantor has assured me that we will continue to work to address outstanding concerns and work to build consensus prior to any anti-piracy legislation coming before the house for a vote." only tells me its not truly dead.

I'm a little disappointed in the internet blackout. The big sites such as Google and Wikipedia only have a black banner across the top and a tiny link. They should have gone completely dark to make a true impact.

RE: Companies want to censor our interwebs. - Twitchin Kitten - 01-18-2012

Check that... Wikipedia's english site has gone totally dark! Yahoo

iPhone version not so much.

Don't bitch at me about doing nothing. I'm all for a Second American Revolution. But no one else will stand up and do something real about it. All these weak protest bullshit morons who don't even have a clear cohesive goal. I've gone on every Anti-SOPA site I've found and done my part. Not to mention that all 3 of my sites are blacked out right now too Tongue
