I never said nor do I think he should be executed. I think the list thing is good. Vick is one example of people like that but I feel sentences for people who do heinous things to animals is not severe enough throughout the country. There are too many loopholes they jump through to get lesser charges or completely skate free of them all together.

To you all I may sound like an inflexible hard ass when it comes to this, but when you've had to rescue and rehabilitate abused animals, or have them die on you trying to help them, it puts a different perspective on it, especially when I've been in courtrooms testifying only to find out the abuser gets away with it and walks away to go home and do it again.

I didn't say you said it, that's what that fucktard from FOX proclaimed

Oh, I'm sorry, I misunderstood you. I must have missed that. Is it in the links I have here or you saw that someplace else?

And for clarification on why I mention Duchess - when I still had access to Mock, I remember reading her post there about his going back to the Eagles. She said, (paraphrasing but pretty damn close)"I don't care what he did, it's all about football. This is a business decision and what's good for my team to win."

Fuck that. If anyone of my sports team members did shit like that I'd turn my back on him too.
As for Vick and football and his second chance - this shit is all about the money and nothing else with him. The NFL opposes gambling and they bent the rules for Vick. Read HERE. Now I realize that is only one reporters' story printed for hid job and it's very one sided, but the first two paragraphs were what I was looking for. I just spent half an hour looking for the NFL's rules on player gambling and the penalties to no avail. I'm 90% sure that they are supposed to be banished from the league for gambling (remember baseball's Pete Rose?) and there are sever penalties for conduct unbecoming to the NFL as well. They keep that shit fairly well hidden. I couldn't even find anything useful on the NFLPA site. If anyone knows where to find the official NFL ruling on this I would appreciate seeing it for myself, if not for anything but to know the rules officially on this and not here-say.

Christ, I saw that flipping through channels when it aired! ANYONE subbing for Hannity is just as nutty as he is. These are far right nut cases and seem, very much like the far left, to have a double standard when it comes to personal preferences on whatever matter.

How can you be "Christian" and "loving" and then say shit like that? His comment was irrational to boot. I didn't even play the clip in your link but I am pretty sure I remember it as him rambling on and on without giving his two guests so much as a consideration to respond to their answers.

Fucking Hannity - I can't stand him. He's nothing but harangue his guests and if they don't believe in the same shit as he does, then he berates them.

I've no patience for these overzealous twats.

FYI - your shortened link is busted. Anyone wanting to see it needs to hit the QUOTE button to grab the link (highlight and copy it and paste it to a new tab in your browser).

I'm going to update the site tomorrow to see if this fixes that issue.

I think what Barb is saying is that the list is a good idea but there is also a potential for it being abused by overzealous administrators.

We have shelters in Schuylkill County that despite their "good intentions" make it impossible for people to adopt an animal. We tried to adopt a puppy and were so stonewalled by ridiculous bullshit that we finally went looking to small breeders. That's how we got Bruce.

Some of the bullshit was:
"If you already own a dog we can't let you adopt." WHAT?????
"If you have any other animals (cats, ferrets, birds etc) you can't adopt." Again, WHAT?????
"If you have EVER owned an animal that you didn't get neutered you can't adopt." Starting to sound nutty or what?

It seems that these screwballs SAY they want to find homes for these animals but their actions speak differently.

This is the attitude I fear will permeate the list and therefore make it almost impossible to own and care for an animal much less adopt one desperately in need of rescue.

Thank god this man can read my mind.. I am a bit confusing some mornings when I haven't had my coffee.

Yes I understand the list could be a wonderful tool.. But I am on the fence as it has so many potentials for being over used or improperly administrated. It's scares me that your neighbor could potentially wreck your life if they lie and say you left fido or nibbles out without water when you didn't and the animal laps up the last of the water minutes before the agent gets to your door.

I want teeth for these recurrent people with no brains who have kennels of 40 animals with food and whom never feed the poor critters. While having fair justice for those individuals who get screwed by bad pet sitters or worse being an idiot and not knowing the signs of worms... but I do not want to see unfair persecution... perhaps my desires are too golden for a system that we have... but it's nice wishful thinking isn't it?

Well, it sounds like someone needs to start volunteering at said shelter and gather all the info pertinent and start writing those with the powers to change things and make it right. Sitting back and letting a ridiculous set of rules stay that way is only hurting the animals in this shelter. They are left with no one to adopt them and are only living on 'death row' this way.

OK, not to sound snotty here, but drink the damn coffee first! Giggle There was no way that I could have gotten what LK described out of what you posted.

Now as far as "persecution" and other bullshit - the list is only for convicted felons of animal abuses. So, someone calls on you because they don't like you - they inspect and find nothing. Not even a hint of abuse. I seriously doubt that you're going be put on the list.

You can go to the ASPCA website and get the laws regarding keeping dogs and cats in every state. There is also a book by NOLO called Dog Law. This too covers anything you need to know.

If these things are left to run by the shelters and not a new 'agency' I see more positive potential than negative.
