Aww It's only funny to you it seems. Enjoy your gloat. You're the only one this joyous over that win.

FYI - the Stanley Cup championships are the Holy Grail of hockey, not the Olympics. It's acutally quite a joke now that they started letting pro athletes compete. There is no amateur left in Olympic competition. Sad really.

Yeah like the professional American "dream team" basketball team taking on shopkeepers and waiters in 1992 and 1996.

Bullshit.

As for the olympic ice hockey not being that important?, it seemed pretty important in 1980 when a bunch of US amateurs managed to beat a team of Russian professionals at the olympics. People still go on about that to this day, it seems olympic Ice hockey is only important if the US wins it.

No, it WAS important then because of the fact it WAS all amateurs and the Russians and East Germans at the time were always known to be "cheating" the rest of the world because their competitors were professionals in the sports they represented.

That's why it was a big deal. Canada slaughtered the Russian team in this winter's Olympic game. It was pathetic and nothing as exciting as it used to be.
They even changed the rules and are allowing rougher play and things that used to get you a penalty in Olympic Hockey is now overlooked.

I like the way it used to be. All amateurs, every four years and not split to every two like it is now. Yeah, I know it's every four but it's every 4 per summer or winter giving us two years apart for olympic games of some sort on the TV. I don't even remember how they did this or when it was done, I was like, "WTH? when did this every 2 year shit happen?"

I used to love the summer olympics but now with all the drugs and steroid shit it has become permanently tainted to me. All that fuss about Eastern Europeans cheating when in reality they were ALL fucking juiced up to the eyeballs.

The glory days of Jesse Owens and that Moroccan guy who despite being injured insisted on finishing the marathon are long gone.
