Fact:  Worldwide there are more violent crimes and murders committed with blunt objects than there are with guns.

You can't punish the people who follow the law and the rules in hopes the "bad guys" will follow by example. If people are going to kill, and people will, they will find a way.

Take both of our statements together and that pretty well sums up the biggest flaw in the entire concept of gun control.

LOL Congress's sit-in failed. They held a vote again last night and it fucking FAILED to pass. Voting was still in progress when they showed this on my screen watching this morning's news.

FYI - what does "pres" mean? Present? Is that the term when someone abstains?

"Pres" means they voted "present". They wouldn't vote Yea or Nay but wanted to go on record that they were present during the vote so it shows on the congressional record that they were in attendance for that session.

Obama voted "present" for 94% of the sessions he was at during his senatorial term.

It's a way for them to say "It wasn't ME" to their constituents no matter which way any vote goes. If they simply weren't there it's viewed as they were fucking off and not doing their job. This way they can say "See, I was working. I just didn't agree with {insert subject and/or outcome here} and cop out by claiming it was a bad bill all around.

This was the Republican version of the background check I think? Which the Dems voted down. You gotta laugh at the antics really. They cry they want something done and neither side wants to do anything constructive.

We did have a victory on immigration though. The Supreme Court shot down Obama's executive order on immigration:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/06/23/politics/i...eme-court/

"Today, Article I of the Constitution was vindicated," House Speaker Paul Ryan said in a statement. "The Supreme Court's ruling makes the President's executive action on immigration null and void. The Constitution is clear: The president is not permitted to write laws -- only Congress is. This is another major victory in our fight to restore the separation of powers."
