Well I routinely need to transport blocks of cream cheese or dozens of cases of soda and what not so when I need to get things done I use my truck. When I want fuel economy to commute somewhere I take the family's Verano which is a classy honda civic basically. I like the mini cooper though as far as small cars go, looks like it could be fun to whip around in.

I'm like you there Anthony.

I do lots of stuff that requires a roomy vehicle with a large cargo capacity. I need to find a replacement for Capt. Fugly as the old boy is at the point where he won't pass inspection without dumping lots of parts, time and $$$ into him.

When the 500's get a bit more common around here and older used ones can be had for cheap I'd take one into consideration as a gas saving "puddle jumper".

Those 500's are cheap as hell new. I think they're starting at like $13,500.

I was going the same route as you LK when the truck was acting up last year and was thinking, heh, maybe we should start saving on gas and all that. I wound up with LESS mileage and keeping the truck because I just couldn't part with the truck. I bought the Mustang. Now I keep toying with the idea of trading in the mustang and the truck and buying a Boss 500. It's the need to have a winter vehicle that keeps stopping me.

Well my 500 has saved me loads, cheaper road tax than the motorbike, cheaper to run, to insure, to service and although I thought I could only get one bale of hay in the back (yes back does have to go down granted) the lad in the farm shop proved I could get 2 in last time we were there....and 15kilo of carrots!
Couldn't see out the back with the rear mirror, but isn't that what wing mirrors are for?
