I'm riding my bike home from work this afternoon and there is a turtle crossing the road, I stop, lay my bike down and I'm waiting for the traffic to stop going buy so I can go out and grab the little fucker and take him across the road. I mean I guess I'm just hoping for the best anyway, right? As I'm standing there waiting for the opening to go grab him some fucker runs him over. FUCK!!!!
Yeah, a perfect fucking ending to a perfect fucking week.

How could people be so goddamn stupid? What did they think you were doing? Sightseeing? I've put my truck sideways to block the road to save slow moving wildlife. It's amazing how many people get mad when you delay them a lousy five minutes.

On a different note, Matt and I had a nice 11 mile ride today. We even found a route to the bike shop through the woods so he can get his flat fixed. We bought a repair kit while there. I also got a nice kit off Ebay. I'll show you the link when i go on the big computer later.

Poor little turtle!! He didn't need to die that way!!! That is just wrong!!

I can't even say the dumb ass did it on purpose, but he was following the car in front pretty close, so maybe by the time he saw the turtle it was too late, or maybe he's just a fuckhead.

Anything getting run over upsets me, even the snake I nearly had once dropping No1 son off at cub scout camp. I Do Not do reptiles I believe they should be fossil status. It shook me up I had to pull over for a bit. poor thing must have done the same in a ditch once it finished getting across the road.

Home Depot has a lovely yellow area rug I'm contemplating. I want it, it's going to look nice in the living room but I know I'm going to regret the fact it's going to get filthy fast. It's only $40 too.

So this kinda makes up for the other day....I'm riding bikes with a small group of people this evening and we are coming down a main road back into town, there is a tractor trailer stopped in the road holding up traffic as a snapping turtle crossed in front of him. The turtle made it safely to the other side.
Bravo to the truck driver.

Glad you got to see some kind of redemption for the turtles!

There's nothing like taking an hour drive to the dentist in the hottest weather of the year. I'm so going to hate this day.

and to bash Microsoft a bit - Apple is upgrading the operating system to a whole new deal... From Snow Leopard (what I have now) to Lion. What's it going to cost me? $29.99. That's right. Not a whole new computer, not $300, no worries of needing to back up and / or lose my content.

edit to add: Oops, hit send too fast.

my iPhone is going to have a major OS upgrade next month as well. Can't find a price for that one yet, but I'm sure it's just as reasonable as the iMac.
