Heathrow and Gatwick airports are not fully operational, so the post maybe stuck there.
It's horrible here Tantrum

A friend who lives 'out in the stixs' told us about a young neighbour who has a small jeep 4x4 and although she is used to the lane when she reached the bottom of the hill she didn't quite make it on the corner and ended up in the hedge. All the village men went down to help her out. As they were working another man stood at the top of the hill to turn any traffic away. This 'city-toff' down on a weekend break arrived in his brand new Range Rover and told him. 'This is a 4x4, it can go anywhere, out of my way'

After wetting themselves laughing and eventually getting the jeep out of the hedge, they went and got spades to get the Ranger Rover and 'toff' out of the village pond....which is the other side of the hedge. Whistle

Deep snow and ice? NOW you folks on the other side of the pond know why we Yanks like bigassed pickup trucks with lifted bodies and humongous aggressively treaded tires. Toss 500 - 600 pounds ballast weight in the back then add some tire chains and you have a vehicle that only a complete idiot could get stuck!

That doofus who said "It's 4 wheel drive, it can go anywhere." is one we in Pennsylvania term 4 wheel slide. That goon has no clue as to how it REALLY works.

I would SOOOOO take this truck!

So, I'm stuck home, sick as a dog while Matt is in Atlantic City doing a camera job. I was supposed to go with to help and then we were going to make a day of it down there.

I got whatever has been ailing Trudi's Mark, or so it would seem and top it off, it's kicked in my vertigo that I hadn't had in three years. Fun.

Back to the couch, friends.

Mark is pleased to hear he has managed to pass it on successfully. He never did understand how computer virus's got passed on, now he knows.

I don't think this is the flu. Matt's got it now and he's home whining on the couch.

I feel a tiny bit better but the vertigo is killing me more right now. I'm so jonsing for a cup of coffee but I know if I have one, I'll puke it right up again.

The gritter went past our house at 4am. how do I know? The noise! Angry

I haven't slept properly again for over a week.Banghead

Heard No1 son leave the house at 7am so I looked out oof the window to watch him leave, only to see or rather not see the car, because it was under a thick blanket of snow.

It was a sod of a day! Really busy in the shop which was compounded by the fact Dee phoned to say she couldn't get in (2 miles away). I reminded her she had feet, but she said she didn't like the idea of walking in. The boss worried the locum couldn't get in, who lives in The Stix, 20 miles out of town. He arrived half an hour late. Not pleased to hear Dee hadn't arrived.

Then the weight of the ice on the balcony over the shop had blocked the drain so as the snow thawed, it came through the electric lighting in the front of the shops facia and waterfalled onto the floor in the window and the door. A customer (bless) took a bucket and mop and mopped while we did his prescription. Friends
