Well, since I'm in what they deem a city (LOL yeah), we dont' drive too far for much. When I had the farm in the middle of the state, it was a haul for most things but they developed that area fast so the stores were only a five minute drive after a few years. But the big shopping, malls and what not were quite a ways off. I didn't mind it because having the land, horses and room were the positive payoff. I miss living in the boonies. This 'city-suburb' stinks.

I am one or the other.... give me a REAL city like NY or the boonies. I hate this middle crap. But, it was what I could afford after my divorce. I figured if I am stuck with boonies, the beach is the way to go.

I'm 5 miles from any stores or anything, but can be there in like 5-10 minutes.
A lot of the packaging is a sham, I saw the other day it was either 10 packs or 20 packs of pop. What the fuck is that? Don't break my balls, just raise the price. How much re-tooling did it take to take 2 cans out of the case? I bet a fucking lot.

I snickered when I found 32 bottles of water for the same as 24 bottles its like wow we get 8 more bottles weeeeeeeeeeeeee.... they were perched beside 24 bottle cases with the identical price in the same isle. ARE WE ALL IDIOTS? What I can't fathom is people who are too lazy or whom proclaim themselves too lazy to live in the country because the 20 minutes drive is too much for them.. awe come on. A bigger laugh was when a "Friend informed me everything is marked clearly in the city" When I laughed at her she became angry. Like I have never seen a street with a missing sign in the city.

Shaddap, I like the city.

Last night we bought (shudder) Miracle Whip. Matt likes that crap. Anyway, we got a 30oz jar for $3.69. NEXT to it on the shelf was a 12oz bottle for the same price, the squeeze bottle at 20oz (something like that) for $3.99 and a small bottle of 8oz for $2.69.

All of this was on the same shelf.
All had the same or similar expiry dates.

What one do you think he bought? He better eat a lot of sandwiches!

I can't believe they price like this, right in front of our faces. This isn't the first example I've seen of this here, and BarEdul's is another.
Friskies makes 32 can cases of assorted cat food for less than a 24 can case. WTF?

I have been complaining about prices for ages, feeling we're being gouged but Matt just keeps saying, "That's what things cost." Sorry, NO they don't. I don't mind paying for something but when you can't justify why bigger is cheaper, and not in a price club setting, we're getting ripped off. I don't want the lecture of the guy who drives the goods over road nor do I want to hear about the three fingered factory worker who needs to get paid. We are being gouged and the cost of goods are going up in a bad economy. They should be going down because supply and demand are LESS when people are buying LESS.

The goddamn malls here are empty. All that's there are kids hanging out for lack of a place to hang out. No one is shopping. Now you know it's bad because around here it's "Yenta Central". Go up to Freehold and that gorgeous mall is EMPTY.

Fuckers are gouging us.

damn straight! I caught my grocery store advertising a "SALE" Special 2 for 5.00 special. I lifted the sign to find the regular price was $2.50 each. HOW the hell was 2 for $5.00 a SPECIAL????? I reamed he manager out and informed him he was false advertising and he better straighten his shit out.

Yeah, Ben & Jerry's (guilty pleasure) was "ON SALE" for 2/$7.00. NOT a sale! I see this trick all the time.

I've decided this morning I'm going to be making my own fruited yogurt too. Only the store brand yogurt was on sale and I will NOT make the mistake of buying that swill again. I switched brands yesterday from Dannon to Yoplait and frankly, Dannon is better tasting. I switched because I looked at the ingredients. Price was the same.

I'm better off buying fresh or frozen fruit (frozen for those winter months you can't get cherries), defrosting and giving them a fast spin in the blender and putting them into plain yogurt. Hell, if I got off my laziness I can even make my own yogurt. All that takes is 2 Tbsp of starter yogurt and milk.

Sofie is the devil. I woke up to another paper towel massacre and all my stuff on my desk on the floor. She stays in this room all the time, voluntarily so I KNOW it's her. Tiny pawprints on my counter again and 16 cat toys all brought in this room from the basket inside. I shudda took a picture of the mess but I was too pissed and went right to cleaning it.

If err... when she does it again tomorrow, I'll snap a pic of the devil with her mess.

heh heh our last disaster cat became a disaster outside cat but she was a real pisser if you get my drift. she is much loved and cared for outside farm cat now... she manages all the other farm animals and loves her job. If she hadn't bit my empty hand she wouldn't have moved out. I can't wait to see the evidence but I bet you can!

You know it won't happen now that I said something 'out loud'. Fuckers always make fools out of you like that! Little beast is a food thief too! But I think I already said that story about her stealing food. I think the nightly counter walks are her checking if we were stupid and left her some snacks.

Our 'pisser', Mikki has stopped that stuff. She's feeling better now she's been dewormed and meds are going in to fix her badly infected ears. She's using the litter box regularly now.

This little bitch thought it was her job to "Christen" anything that was a plastic bag or container. If you brought anything home and left it unattended for 5 minutes she peed on it... you couldn't turn your back for an instant. It became horrible and nerve wracking. It was the morning I was having MaryPat's small daughter come around, a two year old, That she earned her ticket out. She was freshly fed and the greedy vixen saw me put my hand in the fridge. I brought my hand out empty. she assumed I had something in it sunk both front claws and all her teeth into my hand. I unceremoniously escorted her out of the house. I could only imagine what would happen to a small child with a snack around her unattended for a second. I just couldn't have that. But we didn't dis-own her we just relocated her and she has decided to be surrogate mom to everything on the place so she is actually very happy. It has actually worked out okay.
