Just announced today after the completion of a teaser image that was released in chunks over the course of the last month on twitter.

It will be a free to play mmo, players will be able to level there pilot and customize their skills to suit their own combat style. Unknown how much customization will be allowed on the mechs themselves.

Its funny cause I was just thinking about mech warrior the other day, and how much I miss that game and hoped they would make and modernize it with today's graphics. I didnt look at the site yet but is there any mention as to a release date or anything? I will definitely have to keep my eye on this.

no, just summer 2012. Also if your wanting for some nostalgia you can get mw4 mercs free from mektek. they've modded the hell out of it new new weapons, mechs, and alot of stat tweaks. and they're still working on it. they even resurrected it's multilayer after the original servers got shut down. it's entirely legit too.
