I picked this game up 2 days ago and I'm absolutely hooked. It still has a lot of rough edges but they're greatly out weighed by the gameplay, and it's only getting better.

The game world is almost infinite in size and is made entirely out of various kinds of blocks, most of which you can gather to make things out of. Stone for building wood for fire, iron for combining with wood to make tools / weapons. Leather for armor.

The game has natural caves to explore, some have dungeons, many can have enemies waiting in the dark.

The graphics are simple, but it adds to the charm in a way. In the screenshots of my place you'll notice the graphics are a different. That's because I'm using a texture pack I'll link to at the bottom of the page.

This is Penny arcades take on the game, oddly enough the game's website crashed the day after the first one was published. XD

Some shots of my humble little place.

Outside facing the front door.

My workshop.

Mine.

Tower.

Bad things come out at night.

Some stuff other people have done.

Accidental arson.

The minecraft website. Game is only about €10.00, or $13. has 700,000 registers users, and over 100,000 purchases.
It's 50% off in alpha and new versions are free after you but the game.

The texture pack I'm using.

I'm not a game player or anything, but that does look pretty cool, in an addicting farmville kind of way.

lol speaking of farmville, i just finished a greenhouse. Then I decided to start a new game, expect more screenshots of my new place.

If enough people here start playing I'll see about opening a multiplayer server for us.

Was trying to run water to my mine, but it was to far. So I poked some holes in the aquaduct and left it as a decoration. XD

I was exploring lost in a cave when I found this near what I'm guessing is the bottom. Was going through it for 5 hours and still didn't get to see all of it because I ran out of torches. light is life in this game, bad things spawn in the dark.

Also this is my little base

On the left my greenhouse. The right is my mine.

This is my house and a well to the left.

Just inside the door you can see the ladder to the basement near the center top, a chest of the left, and some bookcases.

My fireplace, 2 forges (also used for cooking), my workbench and some chests.

Basement with a lot of chests

This is the top floor of my mine, on the left is a lava column in the center of the building i use for lighting, it goes all the way to the bottom of my mine. On the right is a water flow i use as an elevator (need to be careful I don't drown). To the center in the back of the room is my lava incinerator.

This is my cobblestone generator. The way it works is when the flows from the lava and water springs on either side touch it makes cobblestone. If the water was to touch the lava source block it would make obsidian, which is a complete bitch to mine out. Also i have this set up so the water flow carries the mined cobblestone blocks to a collection area thats near the bottom center of the screenshot.

From the bottom of my mine looking up.

And this is the inside of my greenhouse, i have the 3 water flows set to all flow into a collection pit just to the right of me off the screenshot.

I think it's safe to say I'm addicted. XD

Oh also these screenshots look different from my older ones and the original game because I'm using a highres texture pack. It surprised me how stupidly easy texture packs are to install.

Yah, you spend an awful lot of time - 5 hours! Is that your food supply in the greenhouse? Do you have to fend for yourself in regard to food? No shopping centers for food? Does your life depend on nutrition as well as 'survival'?

Yes. Yes again. Your all alone so no XD. Food restores your health.

It's really useful after a creeper sneaks up behind you and just when you think it's safe you hear a hissing sound and you just have time to turn around before it explodes in your face. o.o

LOL that is one ugly thing. Kind of reminds me of those light things or the hand in the Zelda games.
