I went to the NY Orange county fair once. It was hot, humid and full of dirty little urchins running amok. We left early to go riding.

We used to enter butter and we'd get to go to pick up our medals if we won. Those are the only times I've gone, I don't go to county fairs any more either. They are nothing but big whitetrash conventions and the state fair is the grand poobah whitetrash convention. All the little fire depts have carnivals all summer too, those are just little whitetrash conventions.

Somewhere I have pictures of a couple butter carvings.

Off subject, but I got to go to Wisconsin one time to the world cheese convention.
I'm from Wisconsin!!! I now like in the south and not going back north!!!

I had an old Fury III. Thing was a TANK and longer than my truck! I loved it but sadly it was another of those Flintstone's cars that my ex gave me to drive. No brakes, leaked oil like a bastard. So much so that it filled the cab with smoke sometimes! I had a Torino that did the same thing. The muffler was held together with tin cans and hose clamps! Remember when cans were made of tin and not shitty too thin aluminum?

Torinos were a Ford product.

Toronados were a Cadillac model and were the first US produced front wheel drive cars.

I kind of like the demo derbys, but just can't make myself go sit among all the whitetrash. Biggrin Actually, it's because the bastards make you pay to get in the fair, pay to park, and pay to enter the grandstand....to that I say, fuck you and your fair.Finger

I had a 72 gran torino, 4 door, had a 351 cleveland in it. That was one of the best $600.00 cars I ever owned.
