I imagine the launch feature engages the line lock till you tramp on the loud pedal then it releases so you can put a little torque load on the transmission before you get the "go" light.
Launch control is where it will hold the brakes and rev. You have to have the clutch all the way down as well as the throttle (to the floor) then you release the clutch while continuing to hold that throttle to the floor and off you go!
