There ARE some wide spot pull offs but they are quite rare and generally on roads that you likely wouldn't be travelling.
Trucks are now prohibited by law from idling BUT that doesn't mean it still doesn't happen. Your best bet is to research campgrounds and RV parks. Some do have the option of no services parking which would save you money. There are truckstops that have RV cleanout (septic and gray water dump) areas for a small fee. You can find most of them in the RVer's Friend guide.
