The first is being shot at, in the middle of a hot firefight. Now if you really love excitement, nothing beats having the rounds fly by you, going faster than the speed of sound, and the fear of a mortar round landing right next to you. Its the biggest adrenaline high you can imagine. And it is also addictive as all get out, if you like taking chances.

Too many of my friends are in that line of work- I don't need the adrenaline

I get a buzz from a military band marching down the High Street with the beat of the drums resonating off the buildings. Safe and a wonderful sound.

(*Friends turned up at our house yesterday, on their Harley. The sound is so distinct I know its them and they bring the bike in the drive if there is room so it burbles through our carport and makes me run to put the kettle on)

We forgive them for riding Harley just because they are Londoners and don't know better
