So last night we go to IKEA - I'm jazzed. I wanted to load up on some kitchen items, check out some bathroom sinks and cabinets and hit the restaurant for their awesome meatballs. We missed the restaurant
(that's why we ended up at the diner at 10 PM) and I gotta tell you, they really chopped down on their stock / merchandise. Got a few bargains though. This store never ceases to amaze me.
I got a NICE terry robe for $20! and I know it's nice because I'm really picky about the clothing I purchase. I look at the stitching and how it's attached together for shits sake. Thanks Gran for that one! I can't get a nice robe here for less than $50. Bargain 1.
Some utensils for the kitchen - got the cheap ones to use as a trial and see how I like them. Then I'll splurge next trip up. The kitchen department is really slimmed down though, so much is gone. I guess even IKEA is hurting in this economy. Didn't make out with the cookware I wanted but I traded it off for the long searched for perfect container for milk storage. Now I can fit more in my 'fridge shelf! These are tall and skinny 2 quart containers. They take up the space of one next to each other. Nice.
My biggest item was to be new wood blinds for the living room window. I got them and I had that nagging feeling I was bringing those back. I am. they measure 22 3/4" and I need 24". I was hoping that they would just fit inside the frame but not even close enough. Damnit
These are REAL wood vs the fake plastic wood things they sell in Lowe's and Home Depot and instead of $30 - $40 per blind these are friggin $20 for the size (length) I needed too. Who the hell has 22" windows?
So we missed the restaurant by literally, 2 minutes
We finish shopping and then head home looking for a diner or something along the way. None to be found until we hit home. So, instead of going to our usual Toms River diner, we hit the "New" Crystal diner instead. Why? 3G service so we can play dice. Don't order the turkey dinner there.
