We do that and don't do that. We've bought cars because we are going to use them and better still get a return on them in one way or another.
Many of our cars we have 'run into the ground' but then, we take them apart and put them to use again- recycling to the best ability!
I've never owned a new car before and I'm not sorry to say it gets treated the same as our Saab and the Renault. It has to earn its keep.
Maybe the Saab is in 'retirement' only being used for special trips and pleasure and the Renualt does get the rotten jobs more so now because it has a tow-bar (and even with only 1100cc engine it can tow well enough). We have found a company that fits tow-bars to Fiat 500 now and since our friends are thinking of selling their Saabo (Swedish caravan) it could tow that......except we couldn't go to a Saab event in the Fiat....hmmm re-think.
