I just need to add that today I will walk around work feeling a little smug. I mean the old fat guy can log that many miles, sleep on the ground, pull a trailer full of gear, live on fig newtons and warm water, and I will still ride bike to work today. Man, 99% of the young 20 year old kids I work with can't get outta their own way. It is the same feeling that I get from riding my bike to work every day. Something about being up early and doing something that takes some effort, it's that dawn patrol feeling, doing something early before work. You feel a little superior about it.
