Bought English strawberries for my mum's birthday today. They are small and dainty and so sweet, unlike Spanish ones the supermarkets try to fob us off with. A little clotted cream ice-cream- hhmmmm 
Try Stags' Breath Ice-cream or Champagne and Strawberry icecream. I remember Christine used to make lots of different icecreams, her de-stress food. One of her first attempts at a made up one was Pear with Williams Pear Shnapps. Wonderful! Only it had a gritty texture and green flecks we couldn't identify. It turned out she didn't peel the fresh pears she used.
We have never been able to duplicate the flavour since.
