This is a few weeks before the crash.
No after effects, sorry, down to the garage that collected the bike. They were real assy about us gaining access, even though they Knew we were his parents and he 'couldn't'.
Mark managed to get near enough the Pound to see the front wheel was missing, the fuel tank was crushed to half the size, the forks were still there but facing the wrong way. The tax disc was still on it until Phil' was well enough to write a note of proof of ownership to reclaim the tax, by which time it had 'got lost'. ButcherDevil

Lucky lad? Fool

Phil was deperate to see what he'd done to his bike, but we never got pictures Negative

(That small child in the background is his youngest 2nd cousin doing a runner! Poor kid is called Uma)

Trudi, these are the bikes you see in accidents here all the time. The accident and fatality rate of these crotch rockets compared to big Harley's and other cruisers is very one sided toward the rocket.

These bikes are cheap here and any kid with a new license and enough money to buy one does so right out of high school. Many don't take the necessary safety courses available for free to them. I see kids racing in heavy traffic, weaving in and out of heavy traffic on highways at a high rate of speed all the time. I can't tell you how many times I've thought to myself, "That kid's going to crash driving like that." and no sooner than two lights down the road, there he is lying on the floor with a stretcher under him.

Harley Davidson's Buell line is all crotch rockets and we once went to the bike weekend in York, Pa to try them out. The HD plant in York holds a "rally" where you can try out the new line of bikes all weekend free. My ex got on a Buell and came back saying, "Never let me buy one of these, I'll wind up killing myself on it. You can't resist the urge to open it up and I was doing 90 MPH in second gear before I realize I was on a mountain road and had to slow down. These things belong on a racetrack."
The one thing I will say about my ex is he is an excellent rider on a bike and if HE said that, you know it must hold some water. He was a pretty bold rider as it was.

FYI - that bike's wheel base is just as wide as my Harley's was. If that bike can navigate the narrow twisty roads of England, then any HD Sportster could Wink

This is why we have 4 tests and an age restriction on these bikes.
Under 21's cannot jump on anything more than a 500cc, look at me!

Phil passed his test way earlier than usual and then there is another rule to stop him riding anything bigger than 35bhp. He got through the restriction early and passed the ok to get the 600cc.

Yeah but it's not the cc's that are the problem, it's the speed from 0 to 100. Those things are fast no matter how small they are in cc's.

Our big open roads are just an invite for moronic and dangerous behavior.

I drive a 2007 Honda Accord V6. Dark gray, with gray leather interior and a sporty spoiler. I don't really care for leather interior because it's so sweaty in the summer. But I do have heated seats so it's not bad in the winter. If I could get a V6 with cloth, I would though.

I am always in the dog house with my brother in law cuz he works for Chrysler and I drive a jap car. LOL

Which is why there are restrictions Doh
My cousin told me how he did the test you have, then waved his ticket at the Honda dealer who 'lent' him a test bike 1200cc. He took it back 2 hours later terrified at how it could and would just fly down the road.
Our roads are just not like yours TK, neither Mark or myself found roads similar except the lane from my aunts house to the main road in West Virginia, even that didn't compare because it was SO quiet for traffic. I can really see why these driving/riding test have to be done.

Anyway: KissI have more photo's of the stable and Phil found us on Google Maps! They do that 360 degrees shot and there we are in the drive (jaw on floor) last summer when the Google car drove past. We were eating sandwiches and working on my bike. at the time. It is so funny! Picknflick
