You are saying it actually picks the tires off the ground? I would need pictures of that, as I don't believe any stock road cars can do that.

No the tires stay on the ground, but you can see the front end rise up quite a bit and you can feel it from the cockpit. If it came off the ground like that just punching it in 2nd gear I'd have to put wheelie bars on her so I don't kill myself LOL

Only car I know that came with wheelie bars stock was the Boss 429. It's a long ways from wheels leaving the ground to needing bars!

You should be able to feel it get lighter in the front, I would be surprised if you couldn't.

Yeah, the other car had that feel too, but this one is double that punch. Not many dealers allow a test drive on the new mustangs, but if you can, go play around with a GT or if there's a GT Premium on the lot all the better. You'll never get them to let you test a Shelby though. At least around here they won't.

A lot of thought went into this year's model and that includes moving the stupid trunk release away from where your hand rests by the shifter! I can't tell you how many times I popped the trunk while driving and had to pull over to close it.

I honestly haven't been to a dealer for myself since I bought the Honda. Made that sales kid cry, ended up dealing with the manager... Went some when my kid was looking at trucks. While it might be fun, my spare time is pretty much taken up with working on my new house for now...

He was so young, I think my son was older than him.  I might have been his first attempted sale.  Claimed he would 'run my credit' to see if I could take a ride.  I told him how we were going to do it, I ride, if I want to buy after getting a good quote, THEN we would talk about credit.  He went to check with his manager 'to see if we can do that' and I told him I'd walk otherwise.  Never saw him again after the manager came out.  Even the manager had to find me a bike I wanted, have it assembled because it was still in the crate, I rode it, we talked terms, then we ran my credit!

Yeah, out here the salesman comes with you on a test drive for cars. Not so sure how they do it for bikes. I know you hate HD so hush - but when I bought mine, I had the chance to test drive every model out by the plant in York, Pa. Every labor day weekend they have an event where you can ride every bike. I really liked the bigger bikes but I picked the smaller one because it was the one I can lift on my own should I drop it.

I don't care what other people spend their money on.  Hardley is on a rapid down hill slide right now and I really don't want to see them gone just because their management is a bunch of idiots.  Competition is always good.  But it's a good time to buy them as they are basically giving them away just to move them.

They just check if you have the motorcycle endorsement, copy the license.  For quite a while nobody let you test ride a motorcycle, but now everybody does.  Market pressures I think.  The dealer I bought from moves 50-70 units a day, year round.  Bikes, slingshots, ATV's, water craft, and snowmobiles.   On a Saturday it is a busy place.



Zero miles.  Every mile since has been put on by me.  I'm at 6500.  Would be more, but the commute is only 7 miles to work.  Once I move it will be more, maybe almost triple depending on the route I take.

What I got from that page in the manual was burnout mode is a line lock and launch control is a clutch slip/trans-brake control.

When you launch, if you begin to slip the tires, it will slightly slip the clutch or slow the gear to stop unwanted tire spin allowing you to hook up and boogie.  OR it could do like the old school drag drivers and apply slight brake pressure to the back brakes only to stop wheel spin and get the same result.

Either way it's a traction control feature geared toward 1/4 mile performance.

Most people who raced used either a slight clutch pressure or had an E-brake handle set up to use just the back brakes.  It worked better than feathering the throttle and allowed you to keep the power applied.

Top Fuel and Funnycars now have air activated multi-stage clutches and in combination with weights on the discs the crew chiefs make their best guess on how to program when and where the clutch stages lock in.

Play with it and you'll get a feel for where you want your RPM to be when you launch.  If you consistently stay hooked fully by 60 feet you have it right.  Hell if you have a good set of "sticky stripes" you may even pull off wheels up launches!  You may want to look at Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T radials.  Best of both street and strip performance for tires.
