Mustang is in the shop getting the wheels fixed and the paint on the hood fixed and HOPEFULLY the damn air bag recall. Ford didn't have any loaner cars so they sent me down the block to Enterprise. So I'm looking around waiting and finally get to the counter and I asked the guy, "Can I have that Camaro to see if my shirt is right?" He says, "Sure, I can do that." AWESOME. I'm wearing this shirt: [attachment=3537] It's only a 6-banger. Automatic and it soaks up gas like a dying man just coming out of the desert. I really want to upgrade to a convertible now. I had a blast driving around with the top down. I forgot how much I like that. The stereo sucks. The brakes are abysmal and those paddle shifter things are a joke. RE: So this is... - LKTraz - 08-17-2016 Yeah it's really a basic with the ragtop option and maybe a thing or two extra. The SS would have better brakes and suspension, beefier engine, better tranny, premium sound system etc. RE: So this is... - Twitchin Kitten - 08-17-2016 My bare bones Mustang could have kicked this hunk of junk's ass. Had a lot of driving to do yesterday with this pig and in true Camaro tradition, it's as loose as a NYC tunnel whore in the rear on wet pavement and the highway. I see why my brother 'got rid' of is IROC. RE: So this is... - Twitchin Kitten - 08-18-2016 So, I think I need to make a little graphic that says "FUCKING FORD!" with an angry face on it. The car is in for the paint bubbling on the hood. I get a call today saying they're just waiting on the guy to come put new stripes on the hood. My head explodes. Remember the stripe fiasco of 2014? So, it's at the body shop. The shop is awesome. I know these guys from like high school. well I know of them. Anyway, I put a call in to the guy who did the stripes the right way because I'm told that the shop is ordering them from Ford. no no nonononoooooooo Ford's stripes are about 3/4" wider each. Ford can't tell me if they're only replacing the stripes on the hood or the entire car. I let them know that I was ASSURED MULTIPLE TIMES that the stripes would not be touched on the painting. I was a bit surprised and left skeptical on the paint job because I know full well that you can't fix all that bubbling without touching the stripes. Today I get the call. They tell me about the stripe situation and I lose it. If I was told that they were fucking up the stripes I would have had it arranged with my guy to fix them. I'm told the shop is "bringing in a "stripe specialist" to do the hood." This tells me they're not doing the entire car. I ask. thrice. They have no clue. Now I'm reeling. So, after losing my mind on this guy, I put a call (like I told him I would be) to my stripe guy. Turns out he got a call from the body shop about a blue Mustang with white stripes. ![]() Now the only dilemma is will the old stripes have weathered so that the entire car needs to be replaced? AND he can't remember if he used one of two different brands and if he used the "wrap material" vs. standard. I know he used wrap material. So that's a plus. Frank also confirmed that I'm right on the stripe sizes. I left the stripe decision up to him on how he needs to handle it and that he's to do all the recommending of said decision to Ford. I trust him and if he says he needs to redo the whole car, so be it. Now I sit and wait for calls from Ford and Kraig Graphics and see what gives. RE: So this is... - Biker Dude - 08-18-2016 Doesn't sound like a 'Ford' issue, sounds like a dealership issue.
