Setzer and Thorogood - twisteroo - 05-31-2015

Last night we saw Brian Setzer and George Thorogood.
The last time we saw Thorogood I was pretty disappointed. It wasn't much of a show and the sound sucked. All we could hear was the screaming guitar, not even any of the singing, or saxamaphone or anything.
I was hoping if he was with Setzer he would have to step it up a bit and he did....although the Brian Setzer rockabilly riot was better.
We were under the covered roof part of the place but still got kinda wet when it really down poured. Got a buzz on, good music, a good time was had by all.Good

I always figured Setzer would put on a great show. Bummer about George. Saw him 15-20 years ago at Red Rocks. That was a good show.

They were just here at the Count Basie Theater and we didn't go because they wanted so much money for the tickets. I'm beginning to regret this.

I want to see the Brian Setzer orchestra's Christmas show one of these years.
I think Setzer is one fuck of a musician.

You should enjoy it Twitch, he puts on a good show.

The sound is mostly due to the local venue's choice in production companies.
The larger the venue (in general) the better quality the production company.

Some venues have "in house" sound and some are excellent, others not so much.

These days very few acts have their own dedicated sound.

Erm, LK - who and what are you replying to or is this just a general comment? wot

RE: Setzer and Thorogood - LKTraz - 07-23-2016

General statement based on Twist saying the sound sucked at the last Thorogood concert he was at.

RE: Setzer and Thorogood - twisteroo - 07-23-2016

i dunno....the first one George had a band called the Slide brothers or something like that. They sounded awesome and Thorogood sucked balls.
The show with Setzer was different. I figured that Thorogood had to actually put in some effort because Setzer is a much better musician and showman.

Setzer puts on a show from what I've seen.
