My first thought with the China art... the real Santa's elves. But I'm sure there is a much deeper socio-economic message about how the rich only have homes because the poor have been forced to be a subservient work force, only marginally distinguishable from slavery.
I can only assume the confessional/dryer scene alludes to the machine that is religion. But, I have to admit, my first impression was a bit less cynical... simply wash away your sins.

The washing machine is easy. 'Washing your sins away' The confessional box is a human washing machine you go in 'dirty' come out 'clean'.
The Chinese putting presents into chimneys - hinting that Christmas is a commercial franchise by the China production companies. There is usually warnings in December about some doll or toy car bought in a cost cut shop made in China recalled as unsuitable for sale.
At least that is what I think.
I like the cat having a dump too.

Thanks Trudi and Toys! Somehow I missed the obvious on that Chinese thing. I was thinking more along the complex theory toys first made but nixed it thinking that was way too complicated for what it was.
