OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - Twitchin Kitten - 02-14-2014 So, the last week's news stories were riddled with the gigantic conundrum, "How do we make up for snow days for schools?" So far in NJ they have to make up 2 or 3 days from what I can tell from the disjointed reports. They're making a giant stink of extending the school year (my pick if I had kids) or taking days out of Easter break or Saturday classes. Dilemmas presented: Extend year - cuts into family planned vacations Saturday - cuts into family time and outside school activities or religious obligations Easter - cuts into vacation times. Seriously? If rescheduling your vacation is not an option then your kid's education just took second place to your selfish needs. We're talking about a couple of days, not half a year. RE: OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - twisteroo - 02-14-2014 Like your fucking kids are really gonna be stupider because of a couple of missed days of school from snow. It's not like they will quote Shakespeare to me when they rob me at the ATM with a screwdriver for money to buy crank. Really, who gives a fuck? Let them just have the couple of shitty days off and move on. RE: OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - Twitchin Kitten - 02-14-2014 Ah those are the kids whose families can't afford vacations to Disneyland, twist. Those trust fund kids are the ones who are truly in a quandary over this. Ghetto kids have been skipping school anyway. ![]() RE: OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - ralgith - 02-14-2014 And... since when the fuck do families leave the day after school anyway? RE: OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - Twitchin Kitten - 02-14-2014 Plenty do. The rich ones who plan every aspect of their lives out. Apparently Michiganders are too smart for that dumbassness then. No one in MI, even the rich bitches, leave until at least a week after school. RE: OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - LKTraz - 02-15-2014 When I wen to school there were always 7 days built in for snow. If we used them up then it would shorten spring break at Easter. If they didn't get used then they got tagged ON to spring break! How fucking hard is it to schedule shit these days? We NEVER started school till the day after Labor Day and always were done between the 6th and 10th of June. Now that real winters are coming back it's biting them in the ass. RE: OMG SNOW DAY DILEMMA - AnthonyG - 02-16-2014 The kids that work for me, they lost their spring break to not extend the year, if the kids had family plans they just use their sick days. One of the girls is a senior and had not really used any sick days so shes going to Disney for spring break and using up her sick days to take off from school. |
